Sex with thai ladyboy - condom blood - scared first time worried

Hi i am really scared of an encounter i had. I am currently in Thailand for conference i was stupid enough to take a ladyboy sex worker to my room. I always wore a condom in thailand. My concern is are condoms eliminated the risk of hiv ? or should i test ?
This encounter i had was wit a post op ladyboy. I made out wit her and sucked her nipples, after that i put on a condom and proceeded with anal intercourse it was only 2 minutes or less i pull out for a second and found the condom had blood on it. I freaked out she said its ok im tight it happens. But i got so scared went to the bathroom unrolled the condom off carefully inside out so as the blood would be on the inside of the condom. after unrolled inside out i filled it with water from the sink, to check if its broken or has a hole. It filled up like a balloon and nothing was dripping. Please note i do not know what a broken condom looks like or a condom with a hole in it. After this i went home. Ever since this i cant go to work properly i cant go to the gym i cant even enjoy my time out wit friends. I am so scared i got infected especially cause this is a sex worker and Blood on condom. Blood is the main route to hiv. Yes it was on the condom but what if it touched my skin my hand or leg or balls. I am so scared i cannot wait 3 months to test i am freaking out. Was i at a risk ? could i have got infected ? from kissing or sucking her nipples or even worse from the blood on the condom ? i know many people here are experts and i might sound stupid. so i am asking for ur consultation

Calm down already. You didn't have a risk. Condoms prevent hiv infection. It doesn't matter if there was blood on the condom, it still did its job and protected you.

Getting blood on your hands or legs or any other areas of skin is not a risk - the skin is an effective barrier against hiv. In addition, hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies.

Once outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect. For this reason, the blood on the outside of the condom posed no risk to you once the condom was outside her body.

What's important in this situation is that the condom covered the head of your penis while you were inside. The head of the penis is the area where there are cells present that hiv can infect - the head area only, not the shaft, not your balls, not your thigh.

Condoms have been proven to prevent hiv infection. There have been three long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, but no barrier for oral activities, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one.

While you do not need to test for hiv over this specific situation, as a sexually active adult you should be having a FULL sexual health check up on a regular basis.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST FOR HIV SPECIFICALLY FOLLOWING PROTECTED INTERCOURSE, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thanks a lot Ann for your speedy reply, it really took a lot of pressure off me. I have been really stressed these few days could not even work the sight of blood has been in my head always. Yes i did use a condom and the blood was on the condom when i pulled out. im guessing there were no holes or tears as i checked the condom by filling it up with water after unrolling it. Just filled up like a balloon.
Thanks again i really do appreciate everything you told me. I learned a lot from your post. I was really confused to be honest how hiv is transferred as the internet seems to be so broad about it. Says could transmit through breast milk. I lick there and there was milk. But according to what you said its very rare.

Breast milk poses no risk to adults for HIV . Its only a risk for infants with a developing immune system .

There is no use in doing the water test because it tells you very little and is a good way to damage a condom messing around with it and then you think there was a risk when there was not one .

Condoms are designed so that when they fail there is no doubt, the break in half or shred ... they do not get micro holes that you must do complicated test or exams to detect . The whole water test is not a necessary, you will know if a condom fails .

Hi Jeff and Ann, I want to apologize for posting here again however i wanted to ask you both something as it seems you have years of experience regarding this matter.
I read on this forum posts from some people saying they popped the condom or had a hole in the condom meaning the breakage was not obvious. I really dont know what a condom break looks like. So it seems like a small tear could be possible at the top of the condom. Someone told me if the condom breaks it will be obvious and that i will definitely know. After reading this it takes me back to the incident where i had blood on the condom. Should i be worried that a tear could have been present ?
I kind of have a soar throat right now and seem really tired i don't want to be paranoid but im just re evaluating my risk.
I really appreciate you help again and my apologies if my posts sound a little stupid. I would just like to know if after this incident i should test.

Timm, you did not have a risk and you would have known if the condom broke ... if you remember you examined it very carefully and were lucky it did not get damaged during the water test I advise you not do . You are worrying over a no risk incident .
