Rapid Tests - Positive/ H1N1
« on: November 17, 2015, 01:45:13 pm »
Hi, i have recently tested for hiv(08/11/2015) with two quick tests both gave a positive, i am already doing the program just waiting for the hiv program call me booking my medic. But i am a little puzzled, i contacted my last partners(the three which i didn't use condom) and they all are negative, that got me confused then i searched for false positives in quick tests and came across the H1N1 changing it, but the problem is, i took the vaccine in 2009. Would it affect?I only could find something about 122 days or being undetermined....And if someone ever cross path with something similar that gave a false positive can you inform me?It seems a good article to make for academics.

P.s.: I do not have any hope of being a false positive...

Welcome to the forum and sorry about your HIV test … I would not think your 2009 swine flu vaccine is affecting your test but false positives do happen so its important that you work with your doctor and get a confirmation test done before you can really say you have an HIV diagnosis. Please only post in this one thread until you have been confirmed as HIV positive.

You came to the right place Cross. Have you been tested since 2009?

I've been where you are. When I was diagnosed, my rapid test was so faint they told me it might be a false pisiyive. It ws evrn harder to ope when the confirmation came a month later. Its like I was told I  had HIV twice, and I had to deal with it emotionally, which was draining. Just be honest with yourself each day, and no matter what outcome, challenge yourself to be healthier.
