Confirmed Positive Two Weeks Ago
« on: November 18, 2015, 05:10:19 pm »
Hello,
Confirmed Positive 2 weeks ago, and a little frustrated.  Can anyone tell me if these numbers are good, bad, or indifferent? I'm guessing the most important numbers are cd4 is 327, % is 31 and viral load last week was 36300. I feel a little better, now that there is some form of information, even if I don't really understand it all! At least it's forward progress!  Just a little lost and a l o t overwhelmed, But I think I'll make it.  Thanks!

Hey Buddy, I know how you feel.I was diagnosed about a month ago. I am no expert here but your numbers seem just fine. Is that a recent infection? once you start your treatment you will be UD really soon and those CD4 will bounce back as well.

I am sorry for your diagnosis and that you have to be here, but now that you are you will soon realize like I did that it is going to be better. keep us posted.

Your numbers are decent and should improve quickly, once you start treatment.

Sorry about your diagnosis, but welcome to the forum.  There are many fine and experienced people here who will be an invaluable resource for you.

Hey Samm,
Tested positive the 2nd of November.  Because I'm such a boring old geezer (actually just work way to much, and have no life! Lol),  almost 100% certain infection was in Jan 2011.  Other than this shocker, always been pretty healthy.
Thanks very much.  Its nice to hear that maybe it's not as bad as I'm feeling!

They're not bad, but not knowing how long you've been infected, with your CD4 count it is time to start treatment.  I'm sure you'll respond quickly since you're in decent enough shape.

Believe me, numbers get orders of magnitude worse than yours on all fronts.

But you are past the threshold where even those people ignoring the CDC and WHO recommendations to treat everyone should start.

Edit:we replied at the same time.  If it was 2011, then it is def. time to start now, your numbers will just get worse from here on out without medication.

Thanks Ptrk! It's nice to know there is somewhere to turn, that is not threatening.  I love in a gossipy little Midwest town, and sscared to death of my life unraveling. But one day at a time, and we'll see!

Thanks so much.  I'm pretty certain on the timing, and have an appt with ID doc on Tuesday.  Actually going to call and harrass a bit tomorrow, since we now have labs.  I just want to get this going, and hope I can get myself to settle down.  Wouldn't it be a mess,to do fine with this, and drive myself nuts in the process.

Oh God!!!  I thought I would hate Christmas in November, but it's proving to be very useful! Lol. I'm loving some of them! Sleep is medicated, but pretty much guarantees deep sleep.  Went back to work Monday (was on vacation is all!), and it's been a little tough, but managing and getting better each each day!

:) Hey wyosunny! Like so many others here, I am not an expert but I bet those numbers will improve once on meds... I was diagnosed in 2013 and my inital viral load was 78000! Three months on Stribild it hd dropped to 20 and now I have been undetectable for two years!!! So, hang on... Don't believe all you hear, see or read (it can make you really sick) and follow your doctors orders!!! This forum is a great aide and will help you a lot dissipate doubts. Everyone is fantastic!  ;)
Today January 20, 2020, I have taken 2378 pills of my ARV since first pill. This means 79 bottles of 30 pills of ARVs at an average of $3950 per bottle or $313,103 USD for my treatment. I have a compliance of 99.83% taking my meds and only .17% (or 4 pills) non-compliant. Of these four pills two I forgot completely, One I lost and one I didn't have with me while traveling! I became UD 3 months after treatment start   ***We are all dealing with this. And we will live long and productive lives!! AND, yes the Lord is my shepherd. Life is good... And thanks for the meds! ***

Trust me I know all about medicated sleep ..... If my manic ass wasn't heavily sedated every night I'd never fall asleep
