I'm freaking put pplease help!!
« on: January 08, 2011, 02:54:18 am »
I am really scared.I am a young black male. STD.free.  I recieved unprotected oral sex from a Filipino crossdresser from Secausus NJ that i met on craigslist.(stupid i know).he is a smoker but i didnt see any blood. I also had protected anal sex. I was the one inserting. We used a water based lubricant. I rimmed him for about 2.5-3 minutes but made sure not to swallow i actually paused to wash my mouth out with hot water and spit. I used only the tip of my toungue. i repeatedly asked if he was clean he said yes.  he asked me as well. This happened Dec. 23. 2010 I have been feeling these weird itches all over my body and i had a runny nose a week later four about 5 days. It been two weeks and i dont know if i had ars yet and am scared because i stillhave 2 weeks to get symptoms. I wanted to know how much at risk i was. Or if you guys think i caught HIV. Thank you in advance.

None of what you claim is a transmission vector for HIV.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."

Bro,

We don't appreciate the use of the word "clean" to describe the state of someone's sexual health. I'm hiv positive but I also just got out of the shower, so I'm clean too, thank you very much. Do not use that term here again in the future.

You haven't had a risk for hiv infection.

Getting a blowjob is not a risk for hiv infection.

Rimming is not a risk for hiv infection.

Protected intercourse is just that, protected and is not a risk for hiv infection. Condoms have been proven to prevent hiv infection.

Here's what you need to know in order to remain hiv negative:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

DO NOT rely on someone's word as to whether they are hiv negative or hiv positive or have any other STI. Use condoms and it won't matter if they are poz or not.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER THIS SPECIFIC SITUATION, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts
