Which DR?
« on: December 05, 2006, 08:36:15 am »
Okay, it has been coming out of both ends off and on since Sunday night….I think it might have been the shrimp on Saturday…I’m not on medicine, just pepto  ;)  I am pretty sure its slight food poisoning, I don’t have a fever just bad cramps down there and dehydration.  Should I go to my hiv doctor or should I just go to my regular doctor, it’s the first time I have ever been sick since my diagnosis…what you think?

Whichever doctor you can get into first. But then, my GP and ID doctor works together on my medical history so it really doesn't matter for me. Just that my GP is only 10 miles vers. 67 miles to my ID doc.

If you know your non-id doctor or his/her office well enough, call him/her and describe the symptoms.  He/she might be able to prescribe something without seeing you.  It does sound like food poisoning to me, not that I am a doctor.  The longer you wait, the more dehydrated you are becoming so if you have to go, try to plug the leakage long enough without going overboard on it.  Wishing you a quick recovery! Hey Adam - it's either food poisoning or bottle flu.   ;)

I have never experienced food poisoning so I do not know the symptoms. I have a slight phobia about eating out, believe it or not. I agree with the others, see a doctor or if it gets too bad I would go to the E.R. Hope you feel better soon.

Yeah thanks, I'm feeling great now, it went away, I decided not to even see a doctor.  I didn't run a fever or anything and I'm not laying on the bathroom floor anymore so I would say I'm good to go.  and uh, MSP, thank you for your thoughts and prayers.   ::)

Good to hear that you feel better.  Only because we don't know the cause, watch for symptoms prior to any weekend, especially this one, just in case something comes roaring back at you?  You don't want to have to hit an emergency room as you probably already know.  Yes, I speak from the experience of Friday illness.  Win

Hey Xavier,

It is good that the symptoms have come and gone. You definitely will want to mention it to your Doctor on your follow-up visit. Take care of YOU!

Happy Holidays!
