T - Cell Plunge

My T Cells have really taken a dump in the past 7-8 months.  They were a high of 510 18 months ago now down to 287!!!!!!  I don't have my VL load from test 1 week ago but in Dec T Cells were 421 & VL was undectable (Doc said she wasn't worried at this point because % stayed up.  I really need my VL & % from last test.  Really worried have an appointment with the Doc Wenesday.
I have been taking Steriod Shots for my lower back the last 8 months was wondering if anyone knew if that would affect T Cells?  Also have been taking Oxecodone abot 60 mg's per day. 
Kinda scared about all of this I started at T Cells 120 VL 970,000 almost 4 years ago.  Hope it's simple like the meds or just changing my regiment of Truvada/Virimune
Any input is appreciated.

i think steroids have an immunosuppressive effect, so that could be a cause.  Don't quote me on that though i'm definitely not a doctor.

Hi Dennis. Am I correct in assuming you are on meds? Because if you are, the most important thing is that your VL remains UD.

The steroid shots could certainly affect your CD4 counts. It sounds as though the CD4 decline started around the same time as or not long after you started having the shots.

Discuss this with your doctor and remember, when on treatment, the most important number is your VL.

 ::) I have an appoinment with my Doctor today hopefully will find out what in the world is going on with my T Cells.  Thanks for the replies will let you know what transpires!!

 ;D Ok I went to the Doc today yes it is the "F'ing" Steroids!!!!  My VL was 20 so it was actually went down from 48 the last time.
So the shots stop!!  It was also "F'ing" up my Cholestoral making my bad LDL jump, so canceling my shot I have scheduled for Friday, will go Trout Fishing instead in southern Utah.

Yea me!!!!! ::)

Diagnosed in  May of 2010 with teh AIDS.

PCP Pneumonia . CD4 8 . VL 500,000

TRIUMEQ - VALTREX -  FLUOXETINE - FENOFIBRATE - PRAVASTATIN - CIALIS


Numbers consistent since 12/2010 - VL has remained undetectable and CD4 is anywhere from 275-325
