Scared ... HIV Phobia
« on: July 25, 2017, 09:39:29 pm »
Hello... First of all thanks guys ... U r really doing great job..
I shall come to the point straight... In the month of Feb I tested for HIV with Elisa duo test n came negative... Few months back a dog bit me... N I had gone to a govt hospital for having rabies vaccine... M from India... New Delhi... V get four shots for this vaccine for a over a month. In hospital for three times the nurse prepared vaccine in front of me... But on one occasion the vaccine was already pre prepared before my arrival... Now m having this stupid fear whether the syringe n needle was okay or not... As u know lots of patients come over there...

N second question is that wat is the conclusive time after which v will get accurate result ... For HIV test... Coz on internet there's lot of varying information abt window period... I want info abt 4th generation Elisa duo test with p24 antigen...

Third question... I have seen some videos that says... V can't conclude abt HIV infection as it lives inside body for many years n v won't b knowing whether v r inflected or not... Coz seroconversion might not happen...
I m very scared n this is really impeding my growth in every way...
Kindly help...

Read your post completely.

Nothing at all indicates even the most remote possibility of HIV infection.

A dog bite?

Maybe check for rabies, I don't know  Look for symptoms of "lockjaw."

Please learn about HIV and how it is contracted before you post again.

Here's a link to understand how the HIV is contracted:

Hi

Whatever you watched is just rubbish, I have heard some nonsense in my years but this takes the cake. Stop watching you-tube and stick to facts.

99% of people will produce antibodies to HIV within 3 months, (No matter how low the Viral load) the outliers are patients receiving cancer treatments and on autoimmune suppression medication. You are neither.

You had no risk from what you posted, just irrational fear but if you must test for peace of mind do so at 6 weeks and 3 months post exposure

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim

Jim... Just one last stupid question... For the peace of my mind....
Excluding 99% of people... The remaining 1% outliers r the people who don't show HIV positive testing coz they r either on anti cancer therapy... And autoimmune suppression medication...
Is it right...??? N rest 99% people with show seroconverison within 3 months...
As its my last question to put up... Kindly reply elaborately...
Thank you...

Asked and answered.

He is my advice, nothing you mentioned was a risk, its simply fear. Speak to someone face to face regarding the irrational fears, living with fear for no reason is not healthy, also stop googling health information and reading outdated or obscure information.

Get fully tested regularly just like every adult should and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV
