I just emailed my doctor about switching over. I just got three bottles of stribild a couple of weeks ago, but I rather not take it anymore. Anyone else? Can we switch over right away?

Sometimes your insurance will require prior authorization for the new more expensive meds so if this is a factor your healthcare team can handle that for you .

How long will it take for it to be in pharmacies?  How fast can they produce and ship them?  And, how long does it take for insurers to add new drugs to formularies?

I have read that if more expensive, many insurers may not cover it, unless you have existing kidney and/or bone issues.  If they felt the reformulation was needed and was worth all the research to reduce kidney and bone toxicity, then I don't understand even keeping the old formulation on the market.  I mean, why take the chance and wait to see if it happens, if this new formulation is suppose to be much better?  Speaking of that, I've seen docs like Gallant and read articles where they say it "appears" to be better for kidney and bone health.  It seems they really aren't sure.  I didn't understand that.
