HELP!
« on: December 12, 2007, 08:56:05 pm »
I'm taking Sustiva, and remember reading some time ago on the board that there were better times to take it and certain things to avoid eating before taking it...  I wish I had kept the information.

How much susteva are you taking?  Mini is taking 300mgs 1x/day.  She takes her's at 3pm with a snack and her fishoil pill.  To my knowledge she's never had any of the dreams I've heard other people talk about. Good luck with your meds!

600 mg of sustiva, and one tablet of truvada (the tablet says 701 on one side and Gilead on the other) - I should probably find out.

:(

I hope to have better dreams tonight.

Joseph,

Most people take Sustiva before bedtime, on an empty tummy. I seem to remember reading (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) that eating fatty foods before taking Sustiva can increase the side-effects.

Check out the AM info on Sustiva:

Some in another thread changed to taking his susteva first thing in the morning.  He said it helped the dreaming.  Maybe that's why mini hasn't had problems.  She takes it at 3pm - after her nap and about 4-5 hours before she goes to bed.  She does take it with a snack which is usually fruit or peanut butter crackers.  Are your dreams scary, or just vivid and weird?

I take Atripla which has sustiva....and I take it at night before I go to bed 3 hours after I eat....I get vivid and crazy dreams....but they arent nightmares or anything....I like the dreams....I am not really getting any of the side effects...I am guessing they are occurring while I am sleeping which is good.

Glad to see someone else kinda digs the Sustiva/Atripla dreams.  Other than one creepy spider dream I have some really cool vivid dreams.  I swear I can almost control them.

It is what it is...

I am what I am...
