FODMAP Diet
« on: March 01, 2012, 06:38:46 pm »
Well, here I go again  :-[  I just left to GI doc's office, and my SIEBO is acting up again, so he put me on a Low Fodmap Diet  http://ibsdietplan.org/the-low-fodmap-diet/

FODMAP Stands for "Fermentable Oligo, Di- Monosaccharides and Polyols

and gave me another round of antibiotics, this time he wanted to try something different, so he put me on neomyacin 2 times a day  for 10 days  :-\

and after I 'm done with that he wants me to start erythromycin ethylsuccinate 200mg/5 ml oral suspension for 30 days with a follow up appointment, I sure hope this stuff works  :-[

I did however get a cuckle and some laughs outta my GI-doc, when I ask him THIS

"gee doc do u think this is due to eating too much ass, and he said no, you got tummy bugs, but u don't have those kinda bugs...LOL  :P

15 yrs of diarrhea and being told it's AIDS really makes me MAD after all these yrs. dam doctors :(

My GI doctor is saying all of your diarrhea isn't caused by AIDS or some of your meds , it's form prolonged
misdiagnosed chronic GI- disease that you've had for a very long time, I still have AIDS tho....

Oh, OK -- I read it the reverse way, but thought it had to be meant as it was not related to HIV.

Hey Dennis,

Well, you managed to come up with a diet that is more difficult than mine!  :o

Good luck with it. I know it won't be easy, but you can do it.

Wow Dennis, I hope this is finally the cure you've looked for.  Have you considered a butt plug in the meantime? ;D

Just thought I'd update everyone.....I just started the Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate 200mg/5 ml oral suspension, YUCK, that stuff is NASTY, it reminds me of liquid NORVIR
and makes me wanna PUKE, guess I'll get used to it soon enough  :-[

after the 10 days of Neomycin tabs, I still have diarrhea, so I'm still shitting my brains out  :-[

but, here's some good news, I've lost almost 12 lbs  :D  was 197 lbs, now I'm way down to a very slender 185 lbs, if I keep losing more weight, something isn't right
down in the gut  :-\  I'll keep everyone updated as to how well this new medicine works  :-\

Joel..... the Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate 200mg/5 ml oral suspension is suppose to be taken @ bedtime, and the dosage is only 1 and 1/2 mil-liter's outta a syringe orally ...

I guess I'll be on this for very long time according to my GI-doctor, so after time, I'm sure I'll get used to it , I hope, it's suppose to KILL all the bugs, and stop the bloating, gas and diarrhea (so he says)  :-[

I hate to bring this up Dennis but I think it's worth a try. Have you ever tried taking the calcium citrate oral laxative to COMPLETELY clean out your guts?

This is why I suggest it. 20 years ago I got a new partner & got amoebiosis. I asked the partner, he said he had it, was treated but his guts were never the same again. He was better, but never got completely rid of it.
I ate lightly for a few meals, took the calcium citrate once, had the runs for a few hours, and was completely normal after that. I ate lightly for a few meals after the laxative & drank copious fluids to get rehydrated. I pray that something works for you. Hugs, Deiby

Probiotics, Yogurt, and the like, just don't work on me, I just poop them out in the form of diarrhea, when all the guts bugs ( or most of em) are gone, I get somewhat of a relief from the runs @ least for a few weeks

Until they come back again, I don't always have diarrhea, but when I do I REALLY have it.....I've gotten use to this viscous cycle after 15 yrs. I think it's part Long term AIDS & GI-disease..

( been on Meds for 25 yrs. non-stop since 1987 when AZT 1st came out), and I've NEVER had a drug holiday, doctors didn't agree, maybe I need one  :-\
