TIVICAY SIDE EFFECTS
« on: May 16, 2014, 12:24:29 pm »
Been on Tivicay and Truvada since the beginning of April.  Switched from Reyataz Norvir and Truvada.

I am getting some burning sensation in my eyes and dryness.

Has anyone had this or any other side effects?

I will start on Thursday.  From everything I've read, it will be an improvement over my current combo (Truvada/Isentress) which was a HUGE improvement over Truvada/Reyataz/Norvir.
Dates are blood draw dates:
3/12/15: CD4 941, 36.4%, VL UD
9/4/14: CD4 948, 37.9%, VL 150
5/23/14: CD4 895 --.-% VL UD - Truvada/Isentress
09/21/09: CD4 898 27.0% VL 120 - back on track, same meds.High level enzymes, but less so
06/15/09: CD4 478 21.8% VL 1150 - high liver enzymes... looks like I may not be resistant
05/22/09: Fixed insurance, resumed medicine
04/17/09: Ran out of medicine, could not resolve insurance problems
04/01/09: CD4 773 28% VL 120 - high liver enzymes
12/01/08: CD4 514 23% VL 630
10/17/08 started Reyataz, Norvir and Truvada. -- possibly minor neuropathy, but otherwise okay.
9/10/08: CD4 345 17%, VL > 78K
8/18/08: CD4 312 18%, VL > 60K (considering meds)
12/19/07: CD4 550 28% VL > 100K (no meds yet)
Diagnosed 10/23/07

I've been on Tivicay/Truvada for almost 1 year, received it just a week or two after it was released and I've had no side effects.

a2z - You and I have been on all of the exact same regimens in the exact order..being on Tivicay/Truvada has changed my life, I experienced lots of side effects from the other regimens but Tivicay has been great! I'm excited for you!!!

I started two days earlier and I'm on day 20.  So far, no noticeable changes from Isentress, good or bad.

Still got lots of ringing in the ears and headaches.

Hi,

I have been on Truvada and Tivicay for about 6 months, and I have not had any health issues.

Combination of Truvada and Tivicay is my first regiment as I am newly infected.

In the past one month thou, I have started noticing facial wasting, which I am going to meet with a doctor tomorrow to discuss this issue.

I just started Truvada/Tivicay this week. Before, I was talking Isentress, and it is much easier taking 2 pills a day rather than 2 (1 truvada+2 Isentress)

So far, I haven't had any side effects what so ever.

Tivicay for me has been a wash.  No more and no fewer side effects for me.  I had a scare where I was briefly NOT ud (150 copies) but I was told that could have been a lab error.  Follow up labs showed UD once again.

I do enjoy NOT having to remember this at night.  I have not missed a single day, though some doses  have been 4-5 hours later than my usual 8am.   Today was one of those days.

After being diagnosed 6-6-12, after some trial and errors with HIV drugs, MY ID Doc put me on Atripla and Isentress.  I was doing ok, however my VL began to fluctuate between UD and a higher VL.  Recently, I started taking Tivicay, Norvir, Truvada and Reyataz.  Since beginning this regimen about a month ago, I have been having fatigue, headaches, bloating/GI problems and, I have put on a significant amount of weight.  Has anyone else had these side effects?  Will they subside?  Most of all, is their a dietary plan that will help me get this weight off and not affect my meds?  This weight is killing me!!!!!!

Yes! I just came off of dolutegravir (tivicay). I also had dry/itchy eyes and they were also slightly blood shot. I had these other side effects:

- foggy brain

- depressed mood

- tight chest

- chest pain when breath in deeply

- eyelid twitching

- lack of motivation / fatigue

I've tried raltegravir and stribild which both have integrase inhibitors like tivicay, and both were a problem. Stribild was unbelievably awful, almost like an alergic reaction. I heard that integrase inhibitors target the same site so this makes sense that tivicay was also no good.
