I spent New Year's Day doing absolutely nothing.  We hung out in our p.j's and then left for the hotel.  Nothing exciting :-\.

You go on that Waverunner (I assume Yamaha is still the only one with the 'rooster tail' spraying out the back)!  We have two jet skis - D has a Yamaha and I have a Sea-Doo, but you won't catch us using them anytime soon!  That warm weather looks wonderful about now - it's very windy and cold here today and for the next couple days.  I'm sure you had fun.

As for New Year's Eve... we were at our favorite campground having a blast.  We spent part of N.Y's Day driving home.  Six hours in the car (each way) isn't my idea of a good time, but the campground always is!

Yesterday, I did nothing. Except....shovel, shovel, shovel.  We got majorly dumped on.  Other than that, I just kind of laid around.  Nothing exciting.

Look at you on that wave runner!  Looks like you had a great time.

It's very cold here now; no snow, but below freezing.   I did manage to eat some black-eyed peas and collard greens on New Year's Day.   I didn't do that in 2007, and maybe that was what made it "not the greatest year".

Is that a Southern thing, or an American thing?   I know it's something I grew up with, we always had peas and greens on New Year's....

Hello Jan,

Happy New Year to you.   I had to work News Years Eve, so after I got home at 7:15 in the morning. I went right to bed. Ed and I went out for dinner around 3:00 in the afternoon. Then we downed a bottle of Champagne about 6:00 in the evening on New Years day. It was a good day !! Glad you had a great time, and a good New Years !!

Southern, dear!  My mother has always eaten black eyed peas on New Year's Day and I had to eat them growing up.  They're absolutely the most disgusting thing in the entire world.

Rod...Just remember last summer when you were complaining about the heat was I freezing my butt off here in blizzards and snow storms..it works both ways ya know.. :D

I had some friends over and had brunch and a walk in Chinatown and then napping in the park
and then Japanese food. It was a good day.

Well it looks like everyone had a good New Year..I don't think it matters where we spend it or how we celebrate it as long as we are with those we love.

David...It is a Yamaha, last years model, and at full throttle it just skims across the waves, I pulled right back on that throttle once and just took off only to end up being thrown off as I hit a wake from one of the ferries while doing a figure eight...that lake is bloody cold. so I stay just stay under speed full speed now and keep my butt firmly on that seat..:D
 
Edited to add..I'm glad you made it home safe and sound Cliff..so no in flight New Year wild parties then... ;)

Hi all.  Spent the eve at 2 parties of fellow SIN-NYC members.  Took a bus from NY to Philadelphia at 9am tuesday morning with another member to catch the Mummer's parade. Met a few SIN Philly members, one of whom, got us into the grand stand gratiis.  But those damn Froggie Cars, got their titties twisted, and delayed the parade by 2 hours.  Oh well, was a great time nonetheless

I spent new years wrap up in my robe, sick as can be, watching tv all ngiht long.

Hopefully next year, I wont be ill during the holiday season..

Same thing happened last year.. :'(

I am really hoping for a better happier healthier year for all you you as well as myself.

 Group prayer now.. Imagine us all holding hands with all this POZitive energy, it just
might work.. ;) Ya never know..

For the last 3 days, starting Monday, New Year's Eve, MIchael and I have put in about 2,000 meters of fencing.  Today we were rained out. 

Too bad ;D

Jan you are truly an inspiration...Those pictures were great.

We stayed home and entertained some friends on the eve and watched Kathie Griffin mock Anderson Cooper on CNN. Spent the next day with the relatives, nieces and nephews, etc. I'm on family/boyfriend family overload after all these holidays. I need another 12 months to recover.
