about discolored sperm ?
« on: October 14, 2006, 07:08:38 pm »
A new development has occured - my sperm is discolored as of late ( a brownish color, not the usual white or transparent ).
( poz for 10 years, low t-cell count, on pills and virus count is zero, no sex partners for years, no blood or discoloration in urine) -
what is this a sign of ?
is this temporary ?
should I be concerned ?
any treatments ?
- serious replies only
( I couldn't find anything on the site's search engine for this )

Semen can become naturally darker in colour if you haven't ejaculated for some time, try a fresh load and if it's still the same mention it to your doc.

Hope this helps, John.

Is there pain associated with ejaculation or urination?  You probably should see a doctor (urologist in particular), to rule out any bacterial infections or prostate issues.

Thanks for responding, Just John and Cliff.
Yes, I haven't ejaculated for quite awhile so that may explain it.
No pain during the ejaculation or urination.
If it continues I'll mention it to my urologist.

My ejaculation is discolored, too. A yellowish brown. I ejaculate three or more times a week and it stays the same color. I'm on Reyataz and I think thats why my loads are the color they are.

I think I'll call in sick this year, for work.   I've got a lot of catching up to do!

I agree here :

Continue to get things checked out, to make sure you don't have a possible infection... Play it on the safe side..

Also, could the yellow colored sperm be from the HIV infection? Or maybe from a very low CD4 when diagnosed?
