I'm posting this in the Activism forum because when gay men are being put into jail for being gay, they're certainly not ever going to come forward for hiv testing or treatment and nobody is going to be teaching hiv prevention tailored for gay men. This shit has got to stop!

Yes, I see the link between the two; and my post is about a march (activism) for Health care as a Human Right (linked to HIV/Aids) I believe the connection is obvious
My point is that there seems to be a double standard, when my post is moved to "off topic"

It's so sad. There are still several countries where consensual sex between two adults of the same sex is illegal and in some places even carries a severe penalty (including death).
In addition to what Ann said, criminalization of 'gay sex' has also been shown to significantly contribute to unsafe sex among MSM.
In a lot of Asian (especially the Middle East) countries, it is a commonly held (albeit absurd) notion that since gay sex is illegal, it must very rarely take place and therefore the risk of contracting HIV from it is negligible, if not nonexistent.
The intense stigma surrounding homosexuality (in those countries) creates an atmosphere where a lot of gay men are in denial about their sexuality and also about the higher risk that comes with unprotected sex with other gay men.

I'm ambivalent about this one.
I've watched HOT & HORNY MEN BEHIND BARS Volumes 1, 2, ,3, 4, ,5, 6, 7 & 8 plus the extended directors cuts and I've come to the conclusion that prison might actually be fun!

Yes, I do care. I sign petitions similar to this one nearly every week. I should post more of them here, although I do post some of them on my facebook thingy.
And if I'd known that this thread would have gotten so many more responses here in OT, I would have posted it here first instead of in the Activism forum. Guess I have i_care (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=39802.msg503140#msg503140) to thank for getting me to move it! ;)
