Anyone remember the "Salk vaccine" also known as "Remune"?
« on: October 29, 2013, 06:47:31 pm »
I was on Remune for years. There is no question it worked against HIV. I have been on two strategic drug interruptions. One while taking Remune and one without Remune. I was un-detectable for 18 months while on Remune during an STI. Without Remune my viral load was 10,000 the very next viral load test three months later during an STI.

Philly - Yes, and I've noticed recent activity by an upstart biotech (Immune Response BioPharma) that suggests others have clearly recognized the value of Remune.

Well, you were wearing an evening gown and FMN heels when you posted, so we pretended we didn't notice. ;)

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Yesterday's PR by the Immune Response BioPharma provides further clarity on the progress of Remune.  Salk certainly knew what he was doing and the science looks very sound.  Great safety profile.
