results of 1st month of therapy
« on: February 05, 2014, 05:47:33 am »
HI everyone,
I don't want to write again my story, I already did it in other posts, this is just to share my happiness after 1 month of therapy. I've just had my 1-month appointment with my doctor and we discussed my exams.

I was diagnosed very early, just in the acute phase of seroconversion, and introduced in a study for acute patients, so I had my pills very early even before my genotype was determined.

dec 27: cd4 596 VL 511000
jan 8 (started isentress+truvada+prezista+norvir) cd4 716 VL 310000
jan 10 cd4 766 VL 105000
jan 15 cd4 920 VL 5400
jan 22 cd4 922 VL 1054
jan 29 cd4 910 VL 540.

hopefully I'm gonna reach soon an UD state :)

I'm pretty excited :)

I feel good, I took back my life after a big depression after the diagnosis, and i really trust my doctor. This is an early study for acute patients, and who knows how's gonna go on, but I really believe in this "hit soon, hit hard!" . No side effects just a light rash for few days disappeared with antiistamine.

This is just to let people with symptoms of an acute phase and an early diagnosis know that there's a chance to start therapy as soon as possible. I only regret I haven't met my doctor before, I'd have started as soon as my seroconversion  symptoms appeared, and i'd have not lost almost one month to find the right doctor.

Good luck everyone!:)

Great numbers! Something that should make you even happier - on the VL tests that were still in use only a few years ago, you would have already been undetectable. :)

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts
