Claritin...every day... 12 months of the year.  Now I am ok with pollen...oh sure ...itchy eyes... but not the rest.
And as needed: Rhinocort Aqua, Flonase or whatever nasal spary your doctor has for you.
I have been on this regimine for over 10 years.

I feel for you Blondbeauty!  I've had worst problems this year than in a few years.  Hope you find something that works.  So far I've tried lots of different things and they don't seem to fix it for very long.  Glad you found a solution bear!

Blix....interesting thing is:  I was MISERABLE and almost to the point of having surgery to scrape out my sinuses. Luckily I opted to see how the drugs would work. I stuck to it every day...spring , summer, fall and winter....claritin and Flonase every day....for about 5 years. Things got a little better and I stopped the nasal spray...about 2 years ago. Now, here we are ten years into this and I have had the BEST year in 10 years as far as pollen is concerned.  Stopping smoking seemed to help some too. But I am thinking.....what if I had gone thru with the surgery......and I hear it is really painful.

The pharmacist sold me Cetiricine a generic antiallergic by Merck. It is only one pill a day. 4 hours after the first dose I am still feeling the same. My nose and eyes are dripping. So I have just doubled the dose... :-\

Eric,
Come to good 'ol Atl during Spring.  I think Thunter and Jonathan will agree that pollen rules and there is no escape!  I just turn on the HEPA filter upstairs and curse the flowers and the yellow Pine junk that turns my silver car to yellow/gray.

On a better note, the pollen is gone, but send some rain!  My garden is parched and the water police are on the lurk.

I guess global warming is running the pollen north... :'(

Bear,
I went to a pulmonologist and he put me on singulair once a day, astelin 2 X and day.  I've been doing that daily for over a year. Had a pretty good time of it through last spring and fall.  But this spring it's back to the same old thing.  No sneezing, just totally stuffed up and getting congested.   So maybe I need to find something else.

Glad you found something that worked Blondbeauty!!!!

This year has been bad for allergies -- Claritin rocks in my book.

I'm totally empathizing with you bb. Here on the Greek isles May=olive blossom season. I'm sat here now, blocked nose, itchy scratchy throat, nada energy. Me hates hayfever! Zirtec helps it be less bad.

By the way, I AM Melia the honeybee...it's all in my name...but I'm crap at my job! :D

I've had three allergen attacks this year.....It's enough to make you wish for global warming to just hurry up and kill all the plant life already.

We go through this twice a year (Florida) with everything turning yellow. I mean, it's over everything, ...turns the car yellow, windows, patio furniture.... The last three years have seemed worse than other years.

Hope things clear up for you soon. I have been fortunate, in that I have never had any type of allergy problems. Knock on wood !! Hope it stays that way. Sounds like your having a miserable time.

I've just gotten allergies last year and it is a bitch to deal with. I wake up every morning with a sore throat and a stuffed up nose. I get tired of blowing and nothing comes out or my nose is running like a faucet. I have been using Flonase and Nasonex, switching between the 2.

Claritin D everyday.  The only thing that helps me.  Eliminated by quarterly sinus infections as well.

Poor little pollen, forever blamed for every allergic reaction going round.
It may not be pollen at all, but a mould or something else set off by your recent rain.

I get rotten sinusitis and allergies, just not in spring, I get it now as autumn is ending. Saturday I sneezed my head off all day, sunday dried up like cement and associated rotten headache.

I use a saline solution to flush my sinuses, and antibiotics when infected.

I hate clarityne, zirtec and any of those things. they put me in a worse mood than before.

Also, you should be careful what sprays you shove up your nose. The steroids in certain of them have the potential to be affected by some of the meds we take and can increase the risk of cushings disease, or something like that.

When I was in second grade my class went to a park to play, my eyes SWELLED SHUT, so that was fun.  To this day, it is the only place I have ever been to where I've had that reaction.

In Tennessee on the golf course I had to stop playing cause I couldnt stop sneezing or the runny nose.  That sucked too.

Fuckin hate allergies!

I swear by Allegra-D for allergies.  When I was a kid I did the desensitization shots and they seemed to work, but allergies have returned over the last few years.  Is there any kind of relationship between allergies and HIV?

Flonase etc gives me bad nosebleeds, so I have to stay away from them
