After waiting three years, I'm glad you remembered to get the camera.

Does it hold any special memories for you to have waited so patiently?  Did someone give it to you?

At the moment, we have assorted flowers, wild and potted, and in our veggie / herb garden: variety of tomatoes, chards, purple, white, and yellow onions, carrots, green beans, lavender, cilantro, oregano, cinnamon basil, and dill.  Our gardens next year are plotted and we'll have 3.   The biggest will be about 15x20.

I already put these in another thread a few days ago:

current blooms:  http://gallery.mac.com/bedstuy65#100248

ones from last year:  http://gallery.mac.com/bedstuy65#100199

(double click on an image to enlarge it, then use the arrows to cycle through the gallery -- sorry that the 2nd gallery sucks but I hadn't bought my new camera yet)

I started cultivating herbs for cooking this week.  Annoyed by the cost of fresh herbs in the grocery store, I posted a request for plants and cuttings on my local Freecycle list;  and within twelve hours I had offers of rosemary, thyme, basil, sage, and lavender.

Nothing edible !! I am trying my luck with roses this year. Have 4 plants, and so far, I haven't killed them yet. They are doing very well ! Reminds me, I think it's time to fertilize them. Had plenty of new growth over the past month.

 - heirloom tomato plants - flowers, but no actual tomatoes yet.

 - basil, mint, tyme

 - impatiens, purple salvia, wave petunias, and a few assorted evergreens -

my garden is 20 floors above manhattan, and doing pretty well this year...

I live in the hills and the last year garden had Purple Urkle
this year Pink Kush.  I am really looking forward to watching the hairs turn pink.  I have a prescription and a photo ID from the Department of Health, it is all legal and not nearly as fun as the old days.  But more cost effective than going to the dispensaries.  ;D  Have the best day
Michael

The Pink Kush in the photo is not mine, it is from a stock photo bin to show what the species will look like  ;D

Not exactly in my garden, but there are two fruit trees in the common around my house - one is a mango and another bears yellow and sour fruits we call "yellow skin" in Chinese (never seen them in the US/Europe, not very tasty). The "yellow skin" is nice because it attracts a lot of birds. The mango tree is the tropical kind that bears green fruits, not the sweet and soft yellow type. We have been having so much rain recently that the mango tree is now filled up with fruits and instead of green, their color is purple. It looks amazing. I will take a picture of it when the weather gets better.
