My mom found a pile of old letters and cards (remember before email when we wrote?) from when I was away at college. Letters and cards between me and friends (some of whom I haven't communicated with in years), relatives, high school teachers, and others. Some memorabilia too, newspaper announcements, awards and a couple of photos. I attach my photo from my college meal card from 1978. Enjoy. I have some reading to do. I forgot how much I used to correspond. Funny how an old pack of papers can revive memories.
If you have a long ago photo you'd like to share, I'd certainly like to see, esp those of you who have shown themselves in the present day!

OMG - were you ever a boy scout leader? If so I think you once hit on me during knot practice.
-
Believe it or not I wasn't hitting on boys until the following year, 1979.
-
luv the hair, you were ahead of your time babe

Nice pic Bill. I would have done ya, but I was still a babe for much of the 70's.
Here's a pic of me from 1972 with my arms around my sister, Maree. Sadly, Maree drowned in our backyard swimming pool only a couple of days after the pic was taken.
Edited to add one from my 21st brithday in July 1987.

sorry, but mine is a decade later than yours... but I'm younger anyway slightly

edit: found one of a younger "me" which I'd estimate is around the age of 12 (?) featuring semi-gay face.

Here is my senior pic. I graduated high school in 1981 but this pic was taken in August 1980....I was still 16 at the time.

Razor-
The hair, the hair! I can't decide if it looks like the 60's or 80's. Nice pic though. So sorry to hear about your sister.
Hey Philly-
Love the pics!

I love these pics! Boo Boo nice tie! Philly - what were you reading? Do you remember?
-
Here's one from about 1969-70. I would have been 3-4 years old.

Here's Easter 1970 (4 years old).
(edited to correct a typo that made me quite a bit older)

And here's my birthday around 1980:

y'all are so handsome!
Here's my very gay YMCA membership card, which would have been Aug. '83 (a year before the expiration). I may have been on drugs at the time--I've got that lovely cocaine glow in my eyes:

(edit: deleted that second picture, because I don't know where that other guy is these days.)

This flood of memories.....

Looks like an issue of Interview magazine, when they still used the really large format.

Pix's mismarked...it was in the late 70s foe sure. Here I am, all cigarette and thighs...

Don't have a pic of those days. Razorbill, what a fun post! So many handsome lads into men, too.
Getting a little tit action there, Craig? :D
Sorry about the mishap with Maree, fearless. Good Lord! That made me want to cry seeing her sit on that table with arms around one another.
xxx,
Mike

What a cutie! I miss the days of short shorts, when one could actually see legs. I've got a pair of OP's from the early 80's in a drawer... talk about a 1.5" inseam!

With my legs, shortshorts were the obvious choice. I never understood why or how the longshort style came to be so de rigueur. But they are so terrifyingly terrible right now that I fear my legs will be covered for the duration.
Thanks for the compliment, David.

David,
Perhaps you could fish out the short shorts for trailer trash weekend. I'd love to see 'em. ;D

A cutie indeed Brent. You could've done me in the late 70's (as you could now), but I may not have been legal then.
I dug out a couple more pics last night.
One from my 23 birthday in 89, when we decided it would be a good idea to fill our unit (apartment) with polystyrene. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but 3 months down the track I kept finding remnants from that night. Don't even bother to ask me how we disposed of the stuff - let's just say, recycling wasn't big back then and it is amazing what you can do with a decent wind and an open window or two.
The other two are from the early 90's. One a morning after shot, the other on holidays in Tassie, the apple isle. Looking back at these pics has made me realised how little my 'look' has changed over the years, other than more wrinkles.

Wow! What a great looking bunch of people!
I demand the return of short shorts and the abolishment of long basketball uniforms.
Stephen, you really haven't changed in years. Still just as cute as ever.
HUGS,
Mark
(Who will attempt to find a photo of himself and somehow scan it in.)

Which beggars the question, where does the name RapidRod come from. The mind boggles.

Here's Easter 1070 (4 years old).
My goodness! You were 4 years old in 1070? You're holding up marvelously, dear! You must share your beauty secrets in SF!

Thanks, but they must remain secret... damned smartasses! ;)

This is how I looked in 1978.

Some of you... and I won't mention any names... *COUGH* Razor! *COUGH* Buckyball!
My God... hot. Hot. Hot.
I now have another to reason to be said that I missed the seventies in addition to my long-standing "cheap Vivienne Westwood and getting to hang out with Derek Jarmman and the Ramones" reason.

Steve-
Your older pix have this certain "Southie tough" look that...well...let's just say that I'd love to have a shot at that tail bone of yours ;D
But, then, I've always known that you were one lil' looker.
This is how I looked in 1978.

You'd have had to put up with Classic Rock and Disco, too, babe. We went from Smoke On The Water to Rumor Has It in about five years. For most everybody, Punk was something to catch up on in the earliest 80s.

(Who remembers that although the revolution was not televised, it was broadcast via college radio)

I believe this was taken in 1978.
