What is the risk of HIV transmission through the exposure of an open wound to vaginal secretions.
2 months ago I had an oil massage and i had an open injury on my back and the masseuse was for a while sitting naked on my back with her vagina or vaginal secretion possibly coming in direct contact with the wound.
After the massage the masseuse gave me protected oral sex, but she sucked and licked my exposed testicles, was this a possible risk ?
We had no other sort of sex.
5 days after exposure i had an std test for bacteria and hiv which was all negative.
The problem is i developed the last weeks all sort of symptoms, muscle pain, night sweats, a swollen gland under my left arm pit. Are these signs of hiv infection ?

None of the activity's you are concerned about are a risk for HIV ... zero risk .
HIV is fragile and is damaged and unable to infect when exposed to air . There are proteins and enzymes in saliva that damage HIV as well , so getting a blow job or having your testicles sucked isn't a risk .
The female secretion where HIV has been shown to be present is the cervicovaginal fluid. This fluid is actually a thick mucus that covers and protects the cervix.
The fluid a woman produces when sexually excited comes from the Bartholin's glands, located on either side of the vaginal opening. I have yet to discover one shred of evidence (and believe me, I've looked) that shows this lubricating fluid to have any more HIV present than other bodily secretions such as saliva, sweat or tears. Saliva, sweat and tears are NOT infectious fluids.
So , a sexually excited woman can sit on your back and not pose a risk because you were no where near her cervix where HIV would flourish had she been poz and also because it could not survive outside the human body when exposed to oxygen . It also bares mentioning that that's not the way HIV is acquired any way .
ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care checkup, including but not limited to HIV testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.
If you aren't already having regular, routine checkups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine HIV tests to return with negative results.
Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than HIV. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid HIV infection. It really is that simple!

Thank you Jeff for your answer , your reply was very informing and comforting, I am still confused about all the set of symptoms that i have experienced and fit with hiv symptoms. Muscle pain in left hand, feeling of swollen gland under left arm pit, night sweats, feeling of exhaust when waking up... Could you please comment on these ?

We do not talk about symptoms because they are not specific to HIV ... it should comfort you to know that the symptoms you are having could be from thousands of other reasons other than HIV ... If you are feeling unwell you need to go see your doc and find out whats going on .
Just think about what I said about symptoms for a moment and you will see why its futile to guess whats causing a symptom .

Even though your answer was very comforting, i am very scared because mornings i wake up very exhausted with my body all sweating. This also make me feel very down.
In case i have been exposed to the HIV virus, i am at my 10th week now post exposure. Can the symptoms i am experiencing be post seroconversion ? If so Do these symptoms persist or disappear with time ? am I a potentially quickly progressing to aids ?

You never had a risk so HIV isn't your problem . Since you didn't have a risk the HIV test you took at day 5 is conclusive to the fact you are HIV negative .
If you did not engage in penetrative unprotected vaginal or anal sex within 3 months of the HIV test on day 5 then you are HIV negative . You are worrying needlessly and now you can move on , get on with your life and put this behind you .
I told you we don't discuss symptoms and you ignored me and asked again . Its not HIV , so go see your doctor and find out why you are sick .

I deleted the thread you started in the Just Tested forum.
You did NOT have a risk for hiv infection.
You have NOT "Just Tested Poz".
You do NOT have hiv.
If you post outside your own thread here in the Am I Infected forum again, or if you attempt to create a new account, you WILL be permanently banned. You're lucky I'm not banning you right now.
