All I want for Christmas.......
« on: December 24, 2006, 06:31:56 pm »
I'm writing this because it is therapeutic.  If the the mods needs to delete, that is OK.  After almost three months of isolation from the rest of the world and reading every piece of literature in regards to this condition and visiting every support forum I can find, I finally took a test yesterday and expect results in 1-2 weeks.

I've read the odds that unprotected insertive oral with a pro carries "no risk" or it may carry a risk of "1 in 20,000".   I've read the odds that unprotected insertive vaginal with a partner of positive status carries a risk of "5 in 10,0000" and the odds would be less with a partner of unknown status.

I also know what has happened to my body over the past couple months.  I won't provide the "laundry list" of symptoms, because it just doesn't matter.  The only thing that matters is the blood test.  I ultimately stuck my unprotected penis in these situations and I ultimately will be responsible for the outcome.  Regardless of the results of the test, I will never be the same.

I have the utmost respect for the mods, participants, and members on this board.   Happy Holidays to you and yours.

The risk for getting oral on yourself is zero, nil and none, no matter what you may have read elsewhere to the contrary.

It's too bad you have to wait so long for the inevitable negative result. On the other hand, that negative test result is a fine way to begin the New Year.

And hopefully you will have learned something from all this experience that will stand you well in moving forward.

Season's Greetings,
Andy Velez

Thank all of you for this forum.

I just received a negative result via phone with Home Access.  It has been 4 months since any sexual contact.  One last question, considering the pro I was with was an immigrant from Latin America, do I need to have a test for HIV-2?

Thank you.

Forget about HIV-2 and HIV altogether.

You don't need to test any further. You never needed to test in the first place. You ARE HIV negative. Period. End of story.

If you're sexually active you do need to keep in mind that other STDs are much easier to acquire. Having a full STD panel done annually is a good idea and every six months is even better.

This time out you have no cause for further HIV concerns.

Cheers,
Andy Velez
