One year on
« on: September 17, 2013, 06:20:11 pm »
One year ago tonight I was in complete ignorance, a few hours later the bottom fell out of my life when I was told I had reacted as weak positive to HIV. Having always been safe, or so I thought, this was more than a shock, I'd said yes to a blood test without even thinking it could be positive. I couldn't have got through those first days without my friends.

A year on and I'm good now. I still have my dark days and get a bit sad but who doesn't? Sometimes I still think I'm going to wake up from this dream or there's been a mistake but my head's generally sorted.

I don't really know what I'm saying but I just need to say 'something'. Thanks to the people on here who have given advice, support or even just their inspiring presence. A year. Damn.

I'm only 32 years old. Mad to think you've lived with the virus for my entire lifespan!
