Title: Need some reassurance
Post by: Riggs81 on December 30, 2013, 11:14:30 am
About 2 and a half weeks ago I met a person of transgender. He said he was hiv negative. We both performed unprotected oral on each other for a few minutes, there was no penetration but my penis may have came in contact with his asshole (He was sitting on my legs). He came on my chest, no cuts, no blood or anything. For the past week I've had a slight sore throat and cough and seem to be more tired then usual. No fever but 2 nights in a row I get a rash on my face and neck. Not really small bumps but just very red and hot. I was also drinking when The rash came and it could be from that.

Riggs, you're worrying unnecessarily. It's not who you are with that is important in terms of risk. It's what you do with that person and nothing you are reporting would have put you at risk for HIV. The only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. Use condoms for those activities and you will be well protected.

There is nothing HIV-specific about any of the symptoms you are concerned about. If they persist you should discuss them with your doctor to find out what is really causing them. It's not HIV.
