Seems like too many good people are dying lately:

Aint that the truth, and we are stuck with the bad ones.  I have to tell you that I met Bo when I was 14, he was amazing the way he can play jazz.  I think he is the reason I love the blues...   D
Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

I got to see Bo Diddley once in a small town high school auditorium.  I used one of those Fuji films for low light and got a few good shots.  ;D  Have the best day

I had the privilege of seeing Bo Diddley play in a small blues bar in Ohio. What a night - it was fantastic.

RIP, Bo, you will be missed.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

I also got to see Bo Diddley and it was the only concert I believe I ever saw on a boat, one that left off one of the piers in Manhattan.  Unfortunately the boat was littered with Hell's Angels and their equally raunchy women and there was a very sinister feel to the evening.  Clearly they were looking for trouble... Suffice it to say that I bravely spent a large part of the evening looking for places to hide on the (not so large) vessel, including the men's room, praying one of them wouldn't knock on the stall door and drag me to my death.  I even seriously considered if I could swim back to land!!!

So I saw Bo but I missed Bo as well. ::)

Always sad to hear of one of the greats passing away.
The man had his own sound, one of the ground breakers.
Heck he even built his own guitar
