Am I at risk and what do I do now
« on: October 14, 2020, 01:07:29 pm »
Hello and thanks for reading
This weekend just gone I met someone I know who I believe said has had no contact with any one since his last screen for everything I’m female
Anyway sorry for the to much info
We were dry humping fully clothed
Then there was some fingering (my vagina) and then a blow job where I got semen in my mouth I quickly ran and spat it out then brushed my teeth stupidly as I have read this may make the risk higher I see no open woulda in my mouth for an entry point maybe a little mark in my mouth but not blood and I have a wisdom tooth that’s half out I feel silly asking this but I need to know what to do
I do suffer with tonsil stones if that makes any difference
When should I get tested and should it be for hiv specifically or do I need prep

Hiya

Fingering, dry humping isn't an HIV risk.
Giving a blowjob is such a minute HIV risk we don't recommend testing over it outside of standard yearly screening

Wow thanks for you prompt answer
I won’t annoy you with countless questions just these I promise
So even with the teeth brushing and the seamen being in mouth and then I spat it out like 3 seconds later where I may just may have had a small cut or where my wisdom is coming through it’s not a cause for concern
What’s the window for testing for full stis and your sure I don’t need to beg for prep
Thanks In advance

You are stressing over nothing, brushing your teeth isn't an issue as long as it's with a toothbrush not an angle grinder.

To explain, the mouth simply lacks route (Cells to infect) for HIV, and even if there was damage to your mouth as in meth mouth or gaping open wounds creating a possible route than saliva & air also act to neutralize HIV by damaging the receptors needed to infect human cells.

All in all, giving a blowjob is such a minute concern with regards to HIV that we don't even recommend specifically testing over it. Just get tested whenever you are next normally due a routine STI & HIV screening.

Try to relax, I don't see any reason to stress unless there have been other sexual encounters not mentioned here.

PrEP is Pre Exposure Prophylaxis, it's too late for that. As for PEP post-exposure prophylaxis the window is 48-72 hours post high risk exposure, what you posted does not even warrant testing let alone PEP.

What’s the window for testing for full stis

Varies depending on the STI you are testing for and the test being used. Generally 6 weeks to 3 months post last exposure, however, there is no need to run out and test  even for far easier to aquire STI's, just test routinely like every sexually active person should.

hep b and c

Heb B i suspect it's a low risk, as for Hepatitis C, normally it's aquired through direct blood to blood contact, i.e contact with the bloodstream. I doubt this was the case and generally Heb C is considered a low to no-real risk during sexual contact.

However, this is the HIV forum, please feel free to talk to the people on the Hepatitis forum about your Hepatitis concerns. https://forums.hepmag.com/

Here's what you need to know to avoid HIV infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions. Consider starting PrEP as an additional layer of HIV protection going forward.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

Kind regards

Jim
