Pride Festival 2022 ??

Is anyone attending or has attended one of the 2022 Pride Festivals? If so, how was it?

I wasn't going to as it's not for me and COVID is rampant again, however, my daughter asked me to take her to the Parade for Dublinpride this upcoming Saturday.

So I am going, funnily enough, the last time I attended was in 2012 also with my daughter who was only 2'5 years old at the time.

The Charlotte NC Pride parade isn't until August and the Columbia SC parade isn't until Oct. (Columbia SC weather is horrible in June and Aug. It's like living in a hot sweaty armpit with no breeze, so that's why their pride is so late in the year). Larry and I usually catch the lynx rail just across the state line and ride in -  that way I get to see if my HIV prevention/treatment billboards are still up. 

But with Covid messing up the last couple of summers, I don't know if we'll feel up to going this year. I mean the corporate shilling for Pride is really starting to work my last nerve anyway. Slapping a rainbow on your product isn't going to make me forget your Republican supporting donations.

Personally, I would LOOOOVE to go to Pride; but sadly, my husband and most of my friends are stick-in-the-muds, If it was up to me, I'd go to pride -- and go out dancing a lot more than I do now (which is never). I love doing "fun" things; but unfortunately at 60 (but feeling 40ish?), it seems I have a lot more "fun" left in me than a lot of people I know. LOL You know it's all about the attitude. If I'm living as long as Nana till 103, I'm just barely middle-aged now. LOL

Have a great time. I'm off to pull on my Speedos (budgie smugglers ROFL) and help my 40-yr old best friends set up for the pool party at their house. The old, tired, un-tanned people will show up later.

Having a great time. We ended up walking in the parade and Avril had a great time.

for us, the sun was hot, the water was wet, I ate too much and drank way tooooo much. but a good time was had by all, and that's all that matters
