Proper diet - Ensure
« on: July 11, 2019, 10:31:28 pm »
Hi guys.
I'm struggling with a lot of stuff and I honestly try but can't find the will to eat well. I want to know if Ensure (if you know it) is a good replacement for a meal.

Thanks , and I appreciate your feedback.

Ensure is mainly a protein supplement, but you can't count on one protein drink to compensate for a lack of macro and micro nutrients that you'll receive from a real meal. You should really consider forming a list of healthier foods that you can just tolerate if you're really that adverse to eating them.

In my opinion you should get a dieticians help,or a nutritionist. Is the inability to eat or have a meal caused by a health problem that  you deal with or is it from the whole anxiety of hiv and all that? If so ,it would also be best to go for counseling/therapy.
Talking things with someone who specializes in mental health and eating disorders is the best way to go.
Of course accepting the situation and getting help doesn't make you any less human and you shouldn't be ashamed or be scared to ask for professional help.
All in all,I hope you get some help and start eating proper meals and get the nourishment that you need to stay healthy.

I just don't feel like eating. too much happening right now in every direction. I've talked to people and it's clear me talking about it all is a burden to them. Evident.
When diagnosed I made radical adjustments to improve my eating habits and I ate more than well. But I don't want to eat anymore, make food for myself anymore. It's been 7 years of stress. I'm not depressed, or anything like it. I'm just tired of this bullshit life but I don't want to shoot myself or die of aids. What about supplements? Can I take the pill vitamins?
I don't have insurance or money for any specialists. I'm already making a huge effort to buy $100, 30 pill bottle of my treatment. Can't with more expenses.

I'm sure there are organisations in your country that could help you with the financial support. You don't always need money to find a way.
You might have a serious eating disorder.
Why is it that you don't like life? Hiv shouldn't be a burden for you when you are on treatment. You shouldn't give up on anything when you can manage the medical part of it. That's why you should ask for help on the inner part of you.
Try to make the things you like the most and eat to get by. Promise me your gonna eat something, even if it's junk food

I got a case of it . When I had diarrhea every time and was about a hundred pounds and my t cells were gone .  I did not drink it because to me it seemed like the end was near and I was giving up ar at least giving in to AIDS?   SO to me anyway by having it, it meant it might help for the end of my run on this world.   but I am here to tell you this was in around the mid nineties. I recovered and recall looking at that case of ensure  and I kept it for about a year . thinking I might still need it . at that point I threw it out .

IT was recommended by my ID doc to give me some nutrients to help at least some for how sick I was .

IF you feel it might help and it makes you feel better about your health it should do no harm to have some .
