Does CBC confirm you’re still undetectable

I’ve been undetectable for 3.5 years and my partner just tested positive. I went back to review my blood tests and just saw 5 -8 different tests and one of them being a CBC every 3-6 months. The last Cd4 and viral load was well over a year ago. Are there other tests that confirm undetectable status without doing the regular ones? I’m so nervous i gave it to my other half when i always thought U=U

Some other relevant info - we took a break for three months were with other people. I’ve never missed my meds (i don’t think) however i have been up to 12 hours late less than a handful of times.

The test to determine HIV-viral load is a specific test for HIV-viral load.  A CBC (complete blood test) will not tell you HIV-viral load.

Since your partner was with other people, you're unlikely to determine whether you gave it to him (though, if you were undetectable, you did not and it's unlikely that you were detectable if you remained on your meds, but for a few late days, even if you didn't take a viral load test), without, perhaps, some specific genotype testing.

Your partner may well have contracted the virus from someone else.

Who's he? The doctor?

Look you have been adherent your medication that has shown to suppressed the virus, so viral load testing is less frequent because as long as you have kept taking the meds it should be unchanged meaning still UD and unable to transmit the virus sexually. If your concerned ask your doctor to run a vl test.

Its unfortunate to hear about the break in the relationship and I hope things are going well between you. Considering you had a break however do remember to protect yourself against easier to acquire STI's and to test regularly.

Sorry, yes the docotr is who i was referring to.

And i have been pretty good imo. There has been the occasional times where I’m late but never a full day. Or i may not have taken my stribilid with enough food but that’s not a regular or even monthly occurrence.

If he hasn't been testing for your viral load, then he doesn't KNOW your viral load.  You might want to ask him if he's been testing for it and if he hasn't -- ask why!

Too late now...but if you are positive/undetectable and having regular unprotected/non PrEP sex...you should ideally be viral load tested every 3 months to be sure of your undetectable status. As for your own health checks it should be done at least every six months. A year seems a long time to wait in between. However the chances of something going wrong if you have good adherance to your meds is very small, the testing is just to be sure everything is ok.
