Bangable Dudes In History
« on: March 25, 2011, 09:16:42 pm »
I always thought I was kinda off finding men in historic photos hot, but I always have  :P

If you share my fascination for the looks of the 19th and early 20th centuries, you might want to check out this blog. After a cursory glance, so far my vote's for this guy, here: why am I always attracted to the sociopaths?
Blessed with brains, talent and gorgeous tits.

What is the point exactly?
There have always been bangable dudes, obviously.
Its interesting when you notice someone is sexy when you weren't otherwise thinking about that -

We see gorgeousness in the history of sculture, painting, so why not also photography.

When I was a kid we would sometimes notice who was sexy in Sears Catalogues, National Geographic, and so on.

Sometimes the mind or society says "No, can't be sexy" and yet there are those pictures of hot criminals, Joseph Stalin, etc.

I'm sure a few of you share this experience - when I was young and homeless were everywhere in New York, I would certainly notice the hot ones.

There are a lot of times we are on autopilot and don't notice things, so a good long look every now and then can really be a "reality check".  Or an acid trip.

Whenever I tripped on acid in NY I would see monsters and crazies and sadness that I would normally tune out.

Yea... I always wanted to do Michelangelo's anatomically correct David.

David has an itty bitty one because that was the standard of beauty for representation. Also some suggest Michelangelo sculpted David to be seen from far below, so there are odd proportions.

Mapplethorpe completed the cycle in the opposite direction.

Talk about bangable dudes....

Yea, he was not the most well hung but there is something about that body that got my juices flowing.  I am not a total size queen ya know!   ;)

Edited to also add:  He may have been a grower, none of us have ever seen him hard...(or erect).  He is hard as a rock already I guess.

Speaking of Stalin... the young George Bush Jr was extremely bangable in a boozy preppy frathouse way. Hot monobrow.

He's on the phoot site with his cuddly bear cousin the King of England.

Supposedly he was a very devoted husband and father and that's all he really cared about.

CaptCarl, I think we may have that same fantasy going.  Some of the Vikings would be fun too and they better not take those helmets off their heads either.  I want those 'horny' spikes to bang up against the headboard good and hard when they get down to business!

Drew, I would guess that the harp boy is a bottom... TOTAL bottom.

Exactly. Bangable dudes from the past were dirty beasts. You all better be into odours.

The fancy ones probably wore perfume. Thus you get man scent and colognes. That would certainly throw a lot of today's picky men for a loop.

Well DUH! That's part of the attraction. That's part of what makes these guys so hot, they're guys.

(Except the Twinkie playing the harp. No doubt he's hosed himself down, inside and out, with a delicate sachet of patchouli and lavender or some such horrifying combination...)

The manly scent is one thing but bad breath would have to go.  I see that toothpicks and toothbrushes were used way back in the day.  For various reasons their teeth were actually in pretty good shape (coarse foods that flattened out tooth crevices, etc).  "In Wales a woman could divorce her husband on the grounds of his halitosis."

http://www.empireurbain.com/teeth/how-did-ancient-civilizations-clean-their-teeth

You may recognize the chap at the bottom right (Sen. J. McCain).  Any of the others in this group would be 'bangable dudes' too!

There was a programme on the BBC this week about Leo Tolstoy.  Now that's cute.

OK, he was a bit of a cunt to his wife, but you can't have everything.  I'm sure she was pissed that he ended up looking like this, though.

Apparently, he wrote some books too.

Speaking of bangable writers in history, I've always had a thing for Jack Kerouac:

Gore Vidal once regaled me for half an hour about the time (he claimed) to have screwed Kerouac.  I never could make up my mind whether this was his fantasy or not.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Alexander The Great.  He was definitely banging as he grieved himself to death after the death of his long term "friend".

Even his statues are hot.

And then, far back in history, there's always Antinous, the great love of the Emperor Hadrian, who drowned (or was drowned) in the Nile in 130 A.D., when he was around 20:

I've read about the beauty of Antinous but for me when talking about hot guys in history it's easiest to truly get a sense of it from the advent of photography onwards, so basically the 1850s? (Although I have to say I've seen a painting of George Washington in which he looked pretty hot, who knew?).

I used to have a Civil War fantasy. I had a LTR with someone from Virginia and I fantasized about him in a Civil War uniform (I guess Union?).

This is going into a dark place!  :D   But I guess many of us go there, watching war films, etc. etc. But wouldn't he have been a Southern soldier then?

When I wrote the post I wasn't sure but, yes, of course, VA was Confederate, duh!

The guy in your profile pic is very hot and it's not a photograph so I should take back what I said earlier, lol.
