assaulted at a college bathroom. really need the experts and emotional support

thank you for approving my registration... this is what happened to me:

i'm 22 years old, college student and about to graduate at a major university here in california. while in the bathroom (around 530pm), I was standing at a stall urinating when a guy (younger-looking  than I am, but taller, around 6'0") stood next to me. He then grabbed my arm really tightly,squeezes my penis, put his finger on his mouth then rubs it at the tip of my penis. I was stunned and he kept on telling me "you're going to die fag" and spat at me several times.

it was good that someone came in to the bathroom to help me and took me to our campus police department. I'm still trying to cope with what happened and I am severely traumatized. I still cannot believe this would happen right before I graduate.

in terms of risks how risky is this for hiv infection? I understand that blood is needed in the saliva for it to be infected. I'm not sure if there's blood in it because I was honestly stunned. Assuming that there was, what are my risks? When should I get tested? Are there any resources anyone here could offer me in terms of psychological as well as HIV-related links that I could read?

in terms of my sexual history, i'm with a monogamous partner of two years now. we've only done oral and protected anal. However I had a brief encounter of mutual masturbation at a club three months ago, from which I went to get tested for HIV and it came back negative.

Hiv is absolutely NOT in the way you're worried about. Not only is saliva not infectious, but it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect. He could have given you a full blowjob and you still would not have been at risk. And unless he was profusely and noticeably bleeding from his mouth, there could not possibly be enough blood present to worry about in the least.

Nothing else you mention is a risk for hiv infection either. Condoms have been proven to prevent hiv infection, oral sex is not a risk and neither is mutual masturbation.

I'm sorry to hear you've been through this traumatising situation, but don't further traumatise yourself by worrying about hiv. You weren't at risk. I hope you can get some counselling to help you put this behind you. A local GLBT organisation may be able to help you with that.

Again, you weren't at risk and you do not need to test over this situation.

Thank you so much.. The reason why I also started getting paranoid is because I developed a cough just right now but it might be due to the stress that I have been trough. Again, just to ask should I get tested for HIV?

Having a sore throat is a sign of having a sore throat. It's cold and flu season, so get a grip.

You absolutely, positively, were NOT at risk for hiv infection during this bathroom incident.

You can test for peace of mind if you want, but don't be surprised by your negative result.

Unless of course you've been engaging in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse you haven't told us about. Otherwise, forget about hiv. You haven't been at risk.

how much risk do I have here? I posted a while back regarding the attack that happened to me in my college bathroom. I am now  facing anxiety and trying to deal with it. last november, my friends tried setting me up to help me "get-over" my paranoia so they brought me in to Steam Works because they think that it's just my fear of sexual encounters causing my paranoia. It was very dark and I remember just sitting down.


However, one incident even propelled my fears. A guy (I cannot see the face because it was dark) started touching me and massaged my penis for four-five seconds. I remember feeling how rough his hands were. I could not see if there's blood in it, but is it safe to assume that there was blood oh his hands if it felt rough? What's the likelihood of transmission with someone massaging my penis?

Please please anyone help me... I would sincerely sincerely appreciate it =/

As for your latest concern, it's another non-risk situation. Sexually the only confirmed risks for the transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. Nothing you presented earlier or this latest time are risks. Period.

If you are still experiencing anxiety and other emotional reacitions to the experience you reported earlier, you ought to be talking with a therapist or other professional. This is not an HIV situation. But you may need  to get some support with dealing with  your feelings about what happened. We can't help you with that in this setting.

There is no need for testing nor for further concern about HIV in relation to these incidents.

Given your name on here and your mention of Steamworks, I'm going to assume you are or were a UC Berkeley student.  There are a ton of resources at your disposal both within the university, east bay, and in San Francisco.

It sounds like you're still pretty freaked out by these scenarios - perhaps you should go to the UC counseling center and talk to someone and/or the GLBT center in San Francisco as I think they also have counseling services.  It may be helpful for you to talk with someone and figure out exactly what is causing you the anxiety.
