HIV blood in hair oil ,shampoo mouth wash
« on: March 13, 2017, 10:18:33 am »
Good day everyone thank you for wonderful service . I have question which just gave me anxiety last night

My maid is HIV positive . And we'll we all found out about it and let's just say she is on treatment now

Unfortunately paranoi and fear came in the family and I need your help as this is a forum where it can be discussed without passing judgements

I fear we left are house Items  in the bathroom such as hair oil and mouth wash

In an Unlikely event if she injected blood into the hair oil bottle or shampoo can there be a risk of HIV from my head scalp ?

My question is

Would my head scalp act as a barrier if contaiminated blood was in the hair oil or shampoo?

If infected blood was poured on my head would my scalp absorb it ? And cause HIV ? Or will it act as barrier and won't go into my hair roots

Can HIV live in liquids such as hair oil and shampoo ? If blood or secretions are present

Can HIV blood live in hair oil or shampoo or any liquid ?

I should not doubt her but thought came last night and we leave are items very freely in the house

Hi your maid has posed no danger of being in your home and I'm happy to hear she is on treatment. There are HIV positive folks in all parts of the work force from CEOs to the medical field and pose no risk to anyone.

Common myths about how HIV is spread
These are some of the circumstances you don't have to worry about because they will not put you at risk for becoming infected with HIV:
Being bitten by a mosquito or other bugs, being bitten by an animal.
Eating food handled, prepared or served by somebody who is HIV positive.
Sharing toilets, telephones or clothing.
Sharing forks, spoons, knives, or drinking glasses.
Touching, hugging or kissing a person who is HIV positive.
Attending school, church, restaurants, shopping malls or other public places where there are HIV-positive people.
HIV cannot be transmitted though urine, feces, vomit, or sweat nor tears.

Give her all the support and understanding you can, and welcome her into your home.

HIV is not infectious once outside the body and exposed to air, and it is irrational for you to think your maid would be doing such things.

Best, Wade

And would my head scalp act as barrier of protection. ?

Or can HIV blood can be absorbed by your head and cause HIV

It's very simple, as I stated the virus is very fragile and does not survive once outside the body and exposed to air. It would not survive in shampoo, oil or anything else of this nature.

The virus is sexually transmitted through anal and vaginal intercourse also
sharing needles, ( drug rigs ) unless you are doing any of these things with your maid you have nothing to worry about.

Would not matter if you did have a large head wound, there would be no virus to infect you.  Please go back and read every word in this thread and you will understand why, and please do not discriminate against your maid.
