Title: Fatigue
Post by: molly on June 19, 2009, 07:17:22 pm
Hi,
I'm Molly. this is my first post. I was diagnosed in Dec '08. During the last three
weeks I have been very tired. Have any of you experienced this?  How do you
deal with it?

Thanks.

Hi Molly,

Welcome to our women's family!  I encourage you to read the women's thread (this one is entitled "all who wander are not lost").  That's where we talk about daily stuff.

About the fatigue..yeah, I have it quite often.  But, mine is due more to long-term HIV infection (20 years), long-term side effects from the meds, and some other physical issues, other than the HIV (diabetes).  I'm not really sure, being that you were diagnosed in 2008, if it's all due to the HIV.  Often times, newer diagnosed people develop depression from the diagnosis, and depression can cause fatigue.  I'm not saying this is exactly what's wrong with you-it's just one idea.

There could be something else going on physically with you also.  If the fatigue continues, I encourage you to talk to your doctor.  None of us have medical degrees here, so the best one to try to figure things out with is, of course, your doctor.  All we can offer you is ideas.

Anyway, welcome again.  I look forward in getting to know you!
  Luv,
Betty

Hang in there it does get better. Write down all the symptoms you are having and talk to your ID doc. He or She may have some ideas that will help you. Also, mine recommended vitamins when I was really fatigued. Also, exercise tends to help me just don't over do it . I look forward to hearing from you in the future and you came to the right place.  We are all friends and help and share with each other.  ~Mary

Hi Molly ! I sometimes feel tired too but I think that's when I'm feeling low.I find that after a workout at the gym I actually feel  livlier and have more energy. I f you are not into exercising perhaps you could go for a brisk walk. I am a firm believer in getting the blood circulating.lol.
