For abqcarl
« on: September 25, 2006, 09:22:17 pm »
Hi Carl

Thank you for your reply to my last post.

I started painting about 6 years ago...I did my first ever painting in water colors...we had a Local Art Exhibition when I lived in Perth and put my first painting in, because I quite liked it and wanted to see what would happen...I got first prize in the beginners section and a highly reccommended..and that's what gave me the inspiration to keep going...all the painting I have hanging at home are all my water colors, but I just stick to Acrylics now..I find them much easier and quicker...water colors are hard to control and oils take too long to dry.

I can understand how nervous you are..but seeing your own work on display is a wonderful feeling...I would love to see some of your work if possible.

Wishing you all the best with your exhibition..please let me know how it goes, and I agree painting is relaxing and the best medicine for relieving stress.

Love

Jan,
Thanks so much for the words of encouragement. I saw your latest three pictures, and they look great. I especially like the last one. The colors are amazing. Most all of my artwork is centered around my lifelong passion of antique automobiles. I have tried to attach a few pictures of the mural I did this summer. There are some in progress shots as well as the finished product. The people in it are vague on details as I: 1) didn't want to detract from the car itself, and 2) I have trouble rendering people effectively, though I'm forcing myself to get better at it. Have a great day down there in Oz!
                          Much Love,
