I know something is wrong
« on: March 17, 2012, 09:11:37 pm »
Any sugestions on my post would greatly be Appriciated. So I had unprotected sex with a iv drug user ( now in prision) I was told he was poz. I don't know this for sure. Anyways 2 weeks later i started with stomach pain, and horrible sinus infection. (Confirmed) I started getting loose stool 4-5 times daily with blood. I also felt extreamly tired. I was getting tingly feelings and hives. I called the guy and asked him if he had any STD? He said haha like what ?? Aids? I went to emergency room and was rapid tested. Negative 30 days later. My CBC showed low lymph at 19% and high nuetrophils slightly. Strange! Anyways days went by and I was having sore throat. Swollen lymph nodes, thrush, metallic taste in mouth. And could not eat I lost 20 lbs in a those combined 3 weeks. Tested 60 days and 93 all negative by antibody test. I thought I was in the clear. So I slept with b/f and he started showing slight symptoms, much more frequent trips to bathroom, dry cough, and aching neck. I started freaking out again! Retested at 4 months, 6 , 9 and 1 year. My symptoms have not gone away! I have been to immunologist, HIV specialist, ENT and have had all my immunoglobulins and sunglasses checked. All normal! My CBC was 13% on my 4 th CBC test and numbers are getting worse. I was wondering if anyone has heard of anyone testing positive past 1 year on antibody test? I asked for viral load but the specialist I went to denied me. In the last 4 days I have horrible disherea and can't eat my stomach kills! My skin is turning red just when you touch it. I'm so upset and depressed I feel like I have progressed to aids but it's not showing. I read that there are rare cases and if they are rare why are my doctors not listening to me?! I just want a diagnosis before it's to late:(

Teak, you don't think I need another kind of test? I ask because I really think I have aids. I would not be wasting my time and energy if I was not concerned. I also have red bleeding gums with periodontal disease and have to sleep with gum in my mouth I'm not producing saliva. I wish you could see. Im not making this up. What about people who are seronegative? Please just reply to the rare seronegative published cases there are 25 of them known. Thank you and I am not trying to be a pest.

No you do not need any further HIV tests. You need to accept the fact that you don't have HIV.

You "think" you have AIDS? Except you don't. You have absolutely reliably tested negative for HIV. You ARE HIV negative. Period. End of story.

If you have worrisome symptoms, discuss them with your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV.

Stop this unnecessary drama and get on with your life. Really.

Well I'm certinally not making up my symptoms. The mind is a powerful thing but can not make a toungue swollen with thrush, post nasal drip, my gums bleed,  or diahereaha so bad you can't stop!  so .... This is why I don't believe my test

Absolutely get a prescription for thrush.

You do not have HIV.

I don't think you have HIV as you tested negative for so long.
When l was diagnosed l didn't know for 2-3 years and didn't focus on my symptoms. I think you are worried and your symptoms could be due to stress or something else.
I would talk to your Dr about your symptoms and see what progresses.

Lake,

Before you let this freak you out - or before you attempt to use it as "proof" that you still might be poz...

When l was diagnosed l didn't know for 2-3 years

She doesn't mean that she kept testing negative in those 2-3 years, she means she NEVER tested during those years. She had a risk but didn't test until 2-3 years later.

See, this is why we don't allow just anyone to reply to questions in this particular forum. We usually have to correct or clarify what's been posted by non-authorised members.

Lake, I suggest you stop focusing on a virus you have been proven to not have and start looking for the actual cause of your problems. Whatever that may be, it is NOT hiv. You have more than conclusively ruled hiv out of the picture.

You could be missing something important through your misguided insistence that it has to be hiv. Keep working with your doctor to find out what's going on.

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned!

Lake,

It has come to my attention that you have been misusing your PM privilege. If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Do NOT use Private Messages to question other members about any transmission, testing or symptom issues. These issues must be discussed in the public forum. Misuse of the PM function in this manner will result in your PM privileges being removed without warning.

I have removed your PM privileges.

Again, I suggest you work with your doctor to find out what, if anything, is actually wrong with you. Do you ever watch the TV show House? Yes, it's fiction, but it is very much based in reality.

If you do watch House, then you'll know that symptoms that seeming point to one thing are very often caused by something totally different. Tests are run to rule things out - and you have already ruled hiv out. If you have never watched House, go watch a few episodes. Then go make an appointment with your doctor for a full physical exam.

You do NOT have hiv. You are conclusively hiv negative and as such, your Time Out warning stands.

Please consider yourself warned for the last time!!!

Ann, good morning. I hope you had a wonderful Easter.  Can I ask if I can have my pm privilege back? And if I want to post another question can I under the same thread? I just do not want to be kicked off. Thank you

Lake,

Sorry, no, you can't have your PM privilege back. You should have payed attention to our rules before you broke them.

You should only be asking questions here in your thread - and yes, you can ask further questions provided they do not concern your previous risk already discussed and your resultant conclusive negative results.

That is unfortunate not even a warning on the pm.

Ok so my question.. 1.) There are 25 rare case reports of people who never showed antibodies to HIV. ( I'm sure more that were just not reported) and given that most people do not know when they were infected do you think in your opinion that this could still happen? Or do you think that the single stand alone antibody test have improved since then?

2.) do you agree that sometimes a viral load is necessary if no anribodies are present and with some people who have either symptoms suggested of HIV or who may have a imbalance of either there quantitative immunoglobulins or qualitative  Or maybe even the simple fact that they too could just be that rare case with a absolute KNOWN EXPOSURE??

3.) In the case you somewhat agree with 1. And 2. Then do you think that a RNA test should be done or a DNA test? One of them is only used for managing HIV. But would a person infected always have a viral load or no?

This does not Pertain to me but I am just simply asking questions to get a professional" opinion because I am learning more about this disease.

Not my fault you didn't read the rules first.

Your questions are outside the scope of these forums. We're not here to give you university level lectures on retrovirology.

You do not have hiv. You have tested conclusively hiv negative. If you want to pursue your hiv negative status further with an Infectious Disease doctor, then go for it - but I'll warn you, you'll get the same response from them:

You do not have hiv.

If you ever get around to reading the Welcome Thread like you're supposed to, you will read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums).
