Nipped Staph infection in the bud this time!

A long time ago I reported in these pages about getting a staph infection (large, swollen, and then subsequently suppurating, boils) on my bum.  That time it got out of hand, burst, and required a week of recuperation and applying some bandaging material as well as the various medications.

Well, a few days ago I noticed a large (2-4 inches) swelling and redness in one of the areas which had been infected - just next to the crack and high up near the tip of the spine.  So, I immediately went to the doctor and got the same cream and more importantly capsules - actually I was given dicloxcillin this time and flucloxacillin last time but they're very similar - and now a couple of days later, its subsided.

I'm learning that it behooves us to be very well informed and very pro-active in managing our health (even for those of us with good immune cell counts).
