Poz' headline story about Cindy Fletcher is inaccurate. Cindy is charged in three separate indictments in New York County Supreme Court, the most serious of which charges Burglary in the Third Degree. The next court date is April 18 in Part 32 before Judge Carro. These facts are public records that were easily accessible to POZ. While I feel great sympathy for Cindy's plight, Poz' apparent failure to check the the facts causes me to wonder if she is really being held as a danger to the community because of her HIV status. If she is indeed being held to protect the public from her HIV, it is an such an incredible outrage that I tempted to come out of the hiv+ closet and defend her myself, but the inaccuracy of the story as POZ posted it is troubling.
