Hi was diagnosed after going to regular STD screening and it痴 so funny to think I wasn稚 going to do the hiv test because I was already there so long but since I was there so long I figured I might as well wait I wanted to make sure everything was fine so it comes back that I知 pregnant and I also have trich and the rapid test came back hiv positive and I few days later so did the confirmation test I have not seen my infectious disease doctor until next week but I did go get more labs done can anybody tell me what these labs mean?
CD4 % helper T cell - 40%
CD4 T cell abs - 342
Absolute lymphocytes - 848

Thank you I知 very disturbed over the status but I知 staying positive I know life is not over it just sucks

Hiya,

I've moved your thread to this section of the forum.

Sorry to hear about the reactive results. Until you have the follow-up appointment with a specialist and the results, ill ask you to only post in this thread. Ask any questions, thoughts or concerns, and people can reply here.

Your CD4% looks at the CD4 count in relation to other immune cells and is within the normal average range, and your CD4 count seems to be 342. The absolute lymphocytes could be considered slightly low.

These are not bad results considering the circumstances. You should get more results next week, including viral load.

Yeah. HIV isn't great, but it's not the end of the world with treatment. Hopefully, your follow-up appointment next week will include a discussion about and then starting treatment.
