Congratulations on stopping for three weeks. It's really difficult, so well done 👍

do you have cravings after a long time?

Yes. Years on and I still miss my morning cigarette, coffee cigarette, after sex etc etc etc . If it wasn't so toxic I would still smoke and if I ever get diagnosed with anything terminal I'll be smoking again

I told my doctor I only had two vices and I wasn't giving up all of them. I deserved to have one bad habit. I was either going to stop my 2-liter of Coke a day habit or my pack of cigarettes a day habit. I used Chantix for a month to quit after 30yrs of smoking. I quit 15 years ago. I'm almost 62 and been drinking that much Coke every day for 38 yrs now. :D

Anytime I'm around my friends who still smoke, I bum 1 or 2. Unfortunately that only happens about 3 times a year. Every time I get drunk, I really really really want one. ooooh, the after sex one would be awesome too.

Congratulations and hang in there!!!

no, that's all you. LOL

However you're not alone. An estimated 34-47% of people living with HIV smoke cigarettes. In the USA, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among people with HIV on antiretroviral therapy

I agree, because I saw a study that says ppl living with HIV smoke a lot more,it's probably just because it compares the side effects of chain smoking as opposed to any relation with hiv whatsoever.

Probably because of all the irrelevant and "what if" questions we have to deal with. That includes healthcare providers.

Anyhow. You only smoked for three months, so good to stop before it becomes a long term habit. Smoking will kill you, drain you financially and gives you bad breath

I was never a hardcore smoker, perhaps a few a day with a few more on the weekend. However smoking was annoying me, so I have it up in my mid-20s.

Here is now I gave up smoking... call me weird but this worked for me!!!

Every time I took a drag of a cigarette, I imagined all the smoke going down through my body, into by balls & dick, and the smoke making my dick shrivel up & wither away.

I stopped completely within 2 weeks of doing this every time i took a pull of a cig. After visualizing my knob falling off so vividly, it was very easy to stop smoking, & never do it again!

I did have a few slips with it about 14 years ago for a year, just a little here & there during a very stressful time but gave it up again very easily.

These days, if I even catch a whiff of cigarette smoke even whilst outside walking past a smoker, I feel sick & almost retch. The smell is so nasty to me now. That is a good thing of course as it means smoking can never happen again!

Surprisingly that's a good idea. Although I think of just becoming a raisin if I continue smoking,or my teeth falling off 😂.
I kind of feel the same way about the last cig I had,it made me nauseous. I might have one but I doubt that I will enjoy it as much now...

do you still have any at your home or in your possession? Take away the temptation and don't bring it back. Throw them away and make sure you feel guilty as hell if you purchase another pack. ;)

I'm the opposite, if someone is smoking I find myself standing closer and wanting a smoke.

OMG LOL that's so me. Even my friends (and Larry) know it enough to tease me when the situation happens. :D A couple times when we've been out drinking, Larry's even bummed a cigarette off someone at the party or bar for me. I loooove drunk Larry so much. ROFLMAO

Hi,

the good thing is, you only smoked for 3 months ! The cravings will eventually go away, and there will come a time, not too far down the road, where being around smokers, or cigarrette smoke will be an immediate turn off to you.

My advice, stay away from the " triggers", that may make you want to light up. In my case i also stopped drinking coffee. Because anytime I had coffee, I wanted a cigarette. keep ashtrays out of your home. and if you have friends that smoke, tell them to take it outside.  :)

Just remind yourself, about the bad affects that carcinogens have on your lungs and body. That should be enough !

PS, you can do this !!
