I bought the wrong ravioli the other day.
« on: May 07, 2007, 07:17:43 pm »
I thought Id stock up on stuff from the supermarket the other day, so I bought a whole mess of stuff, including ravioli because I wanted to have some this week.  Dont know why I assumed it was cheese - I should know better and always make sure.

Well lo and behold I opened the bag and started cooking and they didnt look right....then when it came time to taste test, I was pissed....its meat ravioli!  damn.  Im disappointed and Im veryannoyed at myself because Im usually very careful about stuff like this.

With all due respect, At least you didn't have to go to a food pantry to pick up your Ravioli.

Jeffy,

Jesus H. Particular Christ!

Has it ever occurred to you that in a forum where HIV positive people come for support and fellowship, your pasta disaster seems more than just a little out of place?

I've sat through the kitchen wear thread, the hand-wringing about what colour you should paint your flat thread and whether or not your mange-hound get's lonely during the day when you're not around thread. But this latest bit of bullshit really boils my blood.

I mean, fuck me. Get real Dorothy. You bought the wrong fucking pasta. Suck it up.

It's about time you got your closeted arse out of the house and found a fucking boyfriend. You live in NYC not Buttfuck North Carolina so don't tell me it's too hard.

AMEN...I have some folks at the food pantry where I volunteer that would be thrilled to take that pasta off your hands. As Matty suggested please get a life.

Now hold on a minute.

I call foul.

On the first page of off-topic right now, we have threads about gun dildos, growers vs. showers, who loves porn, Xtube disappointments, the night the lights went out at Wal-Mart, auto services available on Manhunt, who has new grandkids and, drum roll please.......SANJAYA.

I don't find Jeff's pasta disappointment to have any more or less value than any of these topics.  It wasn't mean, it wasn't nasty, it didn't call anyone names.  It was important enough to him to post it.

It's off topic, for Christ's sake.  You don't like the thread, don't read the thread.

oh ignore the matty.  he's just deciding what drugs to do or who to do tonight.  Perhaps both.

Nothing serious like ravioli.

I prefer the meat myself.  Bought cheese once and was equally pissed.

And this is offtopic so grow the fuck up people.  It's just a damn thought,

they shouldn't make fucking ravioli cans that look alike so these things wouldn't happen.  If I ever buy cheese again, I will snap.

If it says ravioli on the can it's MEAT raviioli where i come from.  Bastards think they can fool us by making it similar looking just so they corporate monsters can have a good laff.

And they know we will still buy their shit.

Fucking bastards need to die.  Don't fuck with my ravioli.

I think Jeff's post is an important public service announcement, to remind people
to check the label on their ravioli before heading to the checkout counter.  Perhaps
we need to get some ravioli labeling legislation enacted -- the Fair Pasta Labeling Act?

I can't *stand* meat ravioli -- and the Italian side of my family (Dad's side) would slap me
if I ever served it to them.   :-X

For the love of god and humanity, folks, this is the off-topic forum!

I do like Basquo's subject for the thread, though:  Drama Raviola.   :D

Cheers,

Odd.  Lobster ravioli is regularly available in this intensely Italian neighborhood of Philadelphia I live in the midst of.  Like in one of the numerous specialty hand made fresh pasta shops... not the supermarket BS.

... and it's divine.

I've also had boar's head ravioli at Mario Batali's Babbo and it's doesn't get ANY better than that place IMO.

I'll have to go down to the beach when i get to Ft. Lauderdale, and play the claw machine game in the tank of the live lobsters at Sloppy Joe's Bar (right above Hooters)...  it costs $2.00.  If I win one, I'll have 'em cook that lobster up for me as you suggest.

Gonna keep my eye on the prize.

ah, I see they have enlisted you into the bash bailey group.

He only said that to try to hurt me because i 'bashed' his boyfriend matty who acted like a tard in this thread. I called it.  Sue me.

Jase may be young but he's no dumb bunny even if he plays one on tv.  Or with whoever he is with.
Why do you presume he is so stupid?

Edit to add:

Matty and doxie can go to hell if thats the way they really feal about an off-topic forum thread.  Just makes me think they are both retarded if they can't discern serious issues in 'Living With' versus conversational issues like porn, cock, chicken, oprah, sanjaya and others in off-topic... as well as ravioli.

How sad for you both really to be so angry with the world and your decisions that you take out your agression in a harmless thread about ravioli.

Didn't realize you were both ravioli haters.

perhaps because I actually speak my mind when people act like dicks in the forums?

Sorry if that doesn't make you a fan.  Perhaps I can write pron in my next blog to get you interested.

You can be a steadfast friend always, but you don't have to support dickish actions by your friends like the post matty made in this thread.

Now it's matty's opportunity to clarify what he meant.... meaning he can hightail it back to the outback and say 'it was just a joke'.

But if S&S would actually publish your "pron" all the more power to you both. it would be good to give that webcam a rest.

perhaps not everyone is out to get you as you think.

I have to say, in leaving SF, I have had to swallow my pride and confront people who I had built into my persecution complex(s)... only to find that the issue was really mine and mine alone.

There are many people who would rather not see me post on this board - but personalities are personalities, and not everyone has to like me.  I accept that.

I can dignify their remarks, or I can simply let them be.  To the eye untrained to prior drama, it appears petty and small.  I choose not to give them the power.

Besides, do you really wish to win the favor of those who will pass judgment on you without contact with you?  I don't.  It saves me the time I would have invested in becoming their friends only to find how shallow they really are.

However, what I will say, is that if you're fragile such that someone's comment on your drinking issue disturbs you, and you were the one who brought your issue out in such a way that it appeared to be a joke (which is how it appeared to me in another post), perhaps you need to investigate the truths of it further.

I wish you the best.

Well, the topic of matty being an asshat in this thread won't go away till he responds personally.  I, for one, am very interested in hearing a pathetic justification for being an asshat :)

Matty caused it.  Matty needs to fix it.  Not you dearest bucko or you dearest jase.

Sad matty is too much of a coward to do so even though he is reading this thread...and has been all night.

strayboy, if you wish to discuss any of my 'issues' you can certainly do so in my thread in living with.  Of course that requires a modicum of respect and decency for what the person has posted... I'm not entirely sure you are able of that.

Which for philly is an homage, since I didn't say "I don't think he is capable of that'.

Because I have the upmost respect for philly.  He is always so insightful and deep and honest.

Am I giggling?

ok.. i'm seriouslyu going to go to bed since matty has obviously declilned to reply to any comments here and this is a thread that is about him and his comments, not mine.  :)

Since he declined after obviously reading the replies here, I can only assume he has no response.

Tsk.

I don't usually make a habit of doing this, but here I will happily make an exception.

Mighty inflammatory language there, Dinglo.

Reported.

How many TO's will this make for you now?  About due to be banned by now, I would imagine.

Tsk.

So the evil cabal of Matty's has mushroomed from Jaser and me to include Philly and Joseph, now? I've reported your abusive language to the moderators, Bailey.

I would love to tell matty that I believed his post was an overreaction, but it's not my place.  To those who don't find it humorous, especially in the wake of Jeff's posting after, it may appear an overreaction.  In fact, it may very well appear that matty is being a crunchy old bastard on the issue.

However, it's not my place to chastise Matty.  In fact, letting his comment ride without chastisement, would keep me from seeming as though I was being an 'asshat' so to speak, in pointing out such a horror.

Letting it ride allows others to determine for themselves whether matty is a crunchy old bastard on their own.

...Don't you like it when people judge you on their own interactions with you, rather than the interactions of another?

This is a gift.

edited to add:  This is not a thread about Matty's comments, it's a thread about mistaken ravioli identity.

instead of this bickering, I would just like matty to speak for himself.  And since two of his bestest friends are in instantmessenger with him... he should have no trouble getting the message.

g'nite and 'godspeed'.

Wow... way to drag my shallow insipid ass in the mud girl.  I'll just lower my head in shame for being exposed for the utterly superficial pretentious queen that I am.  Touche!  Touche!
