Can you live on nectar of "Gods" ?
« on: May 11, 2010, 04:28:08 am »

"An 83-year-old Indian holy man who says he has spent seven decades without food or water has astounded a team of military doctors who studied him during a two-week observation period.
Prahlad Jani says he was blessed by a goddess, which gave him special powers
For 15 days, Jani neither ate nor drank and did not go to the toilet

Prahlad Jani spent a fortnight in a hospital in the western India state of Gujarat under constant surveillance from a team of 30 medics equipped with cameras and closed circuit television.

During the period, he neither ate nor drank and did not go to the toilet.

"We still do not know how he survives,"

I wonder if there is lesson for us here ?
what do you see the lesson as? ???

I see a story about a man that believes in a diety that isn't named; a story that isn't about nuitrition since they "claim" he doesn't eat; and a man that denies part of the basics of life and has denied himself the pleasures of eating and drinking. What I don't see are multiple legitmate medical sources backing up this unusual story; nor do I see a story that has any connections with HIV.

Surely this is an "off-topic" and not a "nutrition and HIV" post. ;)

Nectar of "Gods" is popularly known as Uropathy or Urine Therapy in Alternative medicine.  ;)

Please tell us the lesson.

As for urine therapy, a lover tried this to cure his AIDS in the late 80s and it did not cure anything. Obviously. Sadly.

HI  mecch,
I never tried drinking urine, and dont think I will ever try.

I guess the theory behind it must be a bit like a afterburner on a jet engine.

I said " I wonder if there is a lesson"

But since you ask, may be we cant always believe what we read and hear,
or on the other hand, may be there are things out there we understad very little about.

Sometimes even the learned scientific community get it wrong, during recent swineflue
fiasco UK government spent ?4 billion on vaccines, nearly all of it sitting on the shelf.

Sorry to give you a politicians answer

OK, I agree with what you say here.  There are experiences and realities we are not aware of.
