Im worried. Feeling guilt.
« on: June 08, 2014, 11:16:34 am »
Here goes. Im a married man. 2 years ago exactly I had an affair. Local woman in the same town. During the affair we had unprotected anal sex, and vaginally, and she was on her menstruation. I didn't know, until afterwards. fast forward 2 years later to now. 2 months ago I came down with something, I couldn't eat, fatigue, and my bowels movements turned soft. Right before that happen I had been treated for strep with antibiotics, and days later after finishing the antibiotics these symptoms occurred. My doc believe its the antibiotics, I think its more. My appetite came back about a week and a half later. Cant say I completely lost it, but oddly, I only got extremely hungry at night, and ate a bunch of crap, I guess to make up for the day. Haven't lost lbs, actually gained. However 2 months later Im still having loose stools, and now I itch, and found little bumps on my stomach. I dont scratch them, but they still scar. I guess I thought I was exempt since my wife and I have sex a lot vaginally, and anal, and she has been tested every year, and she even tested twice this year and was negative. But ive been reading somebody can be positive and not pass the disease on. I still see the woman around. Shes gained a lot of weight, makes me think she has something and is depressed and let herself go. Thought about sending a message. Just stressed, yea I know get TESTED! Im in a small town, and would preferably rather do it when I go 2 the city. Far as the Oraquick, me and my wife share a account, and I just dont want her to know Im getting tested, since she already has been tested twice, and donates blood twice a year. Me seeking a another test would indicate my infidelity. The only blood I have given was for a CBC when this all started 2 months ago, and doc said those numbers are fine. However I was worried about that, since my MVH was 78 and cut off is 80 and my WBC was 5.1 and cut off is 4.1 I felt that was close to low. I am scared, for once in my adult life.

Your symptoms are not specific to HIV and the only way to know if you are infected with the HIV virus is to test 6 weeks past any possible exposure and again at 3 months to conform the results . I understand you anxiety but the way forward is to test ... all the rest will fall into place once you have done so .

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thanks for the swift reply! I understand that its not specific to HIV, but it was 2 years ago? I know its not ars, but from what i've read it could be HIV breaking my body down. I plan on testing, from what i've read even if it is the worst, treatment is much more greater than 3 decades ago.

The one thing about everyone who thinks they have HIV is that they feel like they have aids until they get a negative test . We don't give odds on transmission but the odds are is that your health concerns have nothing to do with HIV . Get the test and you will feel better .
