Why would this happen?
« on: December 06, 2012, 08:44:06 am »
I apologize in advance if this is not the correct forum for this. I was tested with the oraquick advance. I was told by the staff that "a very faint line" was detected for a positive result. I was then told that a blood test would be needed but not to worry because this has happened on more than one occasion and the blood test would more than likely come back negative. I shared my sexual history with them and they feel confident that I will have a negative blood test. I am concerned for my girlfriend as the reason for the visit was that the condom broke during sex and she asked if I would get tested along with her. They suggested I don't search the internet as I would put myself into more of an emotional mess as I clearly "lost it" with tears and fears for her safety. I guess I'm asking to see if anyone else has gone through the same experience. Thank you.

Did you have a possible exposure?

I received oral from a woman in January and I did not wear a condom.

You never had an exposure and didn't need testing.

Thanks for the responses, Rod. I did not take the advice and been online for days. I'm very anxious and concerned for my girlfriend's well being. I apologize for rambling and carrying on, it's just that she had concerned for other STD and to drop this on her has made me so disgusted with myself. The staff suggested I did not tell her anything, as "there is nothing to tell." Later that evening, she asked how it went and I broke down with shame and guilt. I keep asking myself, "What have I done to her?" as the condom broke, she realized this when she felt me ejaculate in her. I know that there is nothing I can do at this point and that's what is eating me up the most. I have read several of the posts here and want to thank all who spend their time to help inform and educate others.
