Asked and answered already.

In your situation, you said condoms were used each time (and condoms that fail/break tend to be easily noticed as they really fall apart),   so you did NOT have a risk.

HIV can't be transmitted through an intact latex, polyisoprene or polyurethane condom. Unless a condom obviously fails during intercourse, there is no reason to be stressing about HIV or testing for HIV outside the standard yearly HIV screening.

So you had no HIV risk, plenty of risk for far easier to transmit STIs but no need to panic everytime you have sex, just get an STI screening yearly and vaccinated against HPV, hepatitis A & B if possible.

Please don't post about this again, thank you.

Thanks that's somewhat reassuring but condoms aren't 100% effective though are they, or are they - unless they obviously break?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but my understanding was its never zero risk.

HIV is transmitted by unprotected anal/vaginal sex or by sharing needles.

In your situation, you said condoms were used each time (and condoms that fail/break tend to be easily noticed as they really fall apart), so you did NOT have a risk.

Remember to keep using condoms, and maybe consider PrEP as another layer of protection.

Have a great day,
Michael

Reducing Your HIV risks:
With no exceptions, use condoms correctly and consistently for anal or vaginal intercourse
Talk to a healthcare provider about PrEP as another layer of protection

Get tested yearly for HIV and other STIs.
If you don’t use condoms and/or PrEP, test more frequently

Some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other more easily acquired STIs. It is possible to show no signs or symptoms from an STI so testing is the only way to know.

Get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

What’s the ONLY way to know if you’ve been infected by HIV or an STI?
Get tested.

Do I Have HIV? / Scared

Hi all.

Bit anxious.

So I had sex with a few guys in the space of a few days. I was bottom each time Condoms every time which as far as I know remained intact. Lots of oral both ways unprotected however.

I was already booked in for a test 10 days after the last exposure with blood being drawn and sent to a lab. This was negative.

3 weeks on from last exposure I've got a few symptoms that might just be a cold but I'm freaking out because I know the test likely wasn't reliable at this stage,  but the centre need me to wait another 3 months before I can test again.

Is there any chance I caught hiv?

Ojo.          @leatherman, Thanks for your kind words.
Last night, when the doctor was given the second shot to my dog, I think that is a massive relaxer and the first one is anesthesia, I was thinking that back in the day I gave my mother the authorization to stop treatment or unplug me and man! What a difficult decision it is, do you know what I mean?. But anyway, it is my first dog that I had to take the decision to put it to sleep, I’ve had other dogs that die of natural causes Ivan had two boxers that my neighbor killed throwing them meat with pieces of glass, so my ducks would eat it and die from it. But in this case, my two dogs are inside docs. There are always inside my house they even sleep with me… Again, thanks for your kind words. Hugs.

He gave me 15 years of unconditional love and Kept me busy. I just finished walking my other dog around the block and my neighbors asked for my White Dog. I Wish I Could Upload a Picture of Him so You Can See how Beautiful he Was… thanks Again For Taking The Time To send me a virtual hug…

I'm so sorry to hear that Tonny. I know you have said that your doggo has been in failing health lately. I'm sorry that you've had this loss and hope that time and your memories help you get through this terrible time.

I don't know how many times you've lost a pupper, but I have had to go through that a number of times. Sadly I learned that getting a new dog every year means on the other end losing a dog every year. It's never easy....and it shouldn't be. However, it is our responsibility. We're the ones who take the awesome responsibility of how our pets live, and die, from the moment we bring them into our house. It's so easy to make the decision to get a pet, and it's oh so hard to make the decision when it's time for their too short lives to come to an end.

But making that decision at the end for our pets is just as important as the decisions we make to feed them every day. It's a terrible decision to make at the end; but it's also the most important, and often most compassionate, decision to make. I hope you feel peace for making such a difficult decision to do the best for your good doggie. It hurts but it's the right decision.

My deepest sympathies to you during the sad time.  :P :P :P

ojo.             Thanks for your good wishes but, last night I was planning to join the peer support call 📞 , instead, I was at the veterinarian emergency care with my older dog that sadly I had to put him to sleep because he got one more seizure and he was suffering so much that I and  the Veterinarian agree that we should put him to sleep. After 15 years with my dog I had to say goodbye to him.… Again, thanks for your good wishes and I’m sorry  I couldn’t make it again to  the call…hugs

Oh no I am so sorry to hear about your fur-baby. Sending you a big virtual hug.
