Found out what was behind the knee problem today.
« on: February 09, 2007, 05:14:07 pm »

I went to an orthopedic doctor today and he said I have a torn meniscus.  He told me they do get better sometimes on their own, but since I have had it now for about 5 months this may not be the case in this situation.  It may require surgery.  The part that really pisses me off about all this is I went to the ER on January 5 under my clinics suggestion and the ER doc said it was tendinitis.  From the ER visit I have a $1800 bill for the hospital, a $102 bill for the labs they did, a $36 bill for the Xrays, and a $493 bill for a doctor who I never saw.  The only doctor I saw was a physicians assistant... and it's not even tendinitis.  So I have a total of $2500 in bills for shit!!

Now originally my doctor at the clinic wanted me to go to the orthopedic I saw today.  She gave me a referral and the nurse at my clinic, who over sees case management, told me later that the doctor wanted me to go to the ER and not to give the referral.  2 weeks ago when I got my lab results the doctor asked why I had not been to the orthopedic.  I told her what the nurse told me and the doctor said she never told the nurse not to give me the referral.  Todays visit was the referral, which if the nurse had originally put it through as asked I would not have the $2500 bill from the ER visit.

Boy... I want to kick some ass... OK I know that won't solve anything, but some bloody knuckles sure would feel good.. OK I'm kidding.. sort of ;)

On top of all this bullshit... My liver has not been handling shit  well and...  I got tested for hep C which my doctor suspects because of it.  I hope those 6 tattoos I got 5 months back were done with clean needles...lol..

Damn that felt good to get off the chest!!!  I'm ready for some pizza now!!

What I would do for a good ole shot of tequila right about now...  I think I'll go get my shot glass and fill it with water...  I've always had a good imagination!

Hey Thomas,

What a load of . . . well manure!

I'd want to kick ass too.

Just don't do any more damage to the knee.

HUGS,

Thomas,

Damn, sorry to hear that they wasted your time and stuck you with a bill. I don't blame you for being pissed. And now you need surgery, too bad you can't sue the E.R. But I remember how bad the hospitals were down there. I'm hoping that it's not hep c and figure out what it is and do something about it. I know the waiting must be driving you nuts. I'll smoke a doobie for you. Keep us posted...

I'm not so sure he can't sue the ER, or at least threaten to if they don't wipe out the bulk of that bill!

Thomas,  take care of what you need to first. Then worry about the bill ;)

Hey dude,

What a bunch of bullshit.  It's such a pain, but maybe you can get the bull to swallow the shit.  Kindest thoughts to your liver...

Thomas,

It's your fault for not smacking the nurse upside her head with a 2007 PDR when she deferred your referral...

If only there was a way for you to contest the ER bill and demand the incompetent nurse pay the bill due to her willful neglect.  If I had a $2500 bill spring up I wouldn't even be able to afford beans much less poultry, fish, beef, etc.  I'd probably have to start eating my cats.

Sorry you have to go through this expensive bureaucratic BS.  Now maybe something can be done to address your knee problem, finally.
