Symptoms, chlamydia, and testing windows......

Hi, my name is Andy and I have a few concerns that I hope you can help. Thanks.

Here is my story. I went to Asia in May of 2006 and had a risky encounter with a women I met in the bar.  She took the money I gave her as a "gift" but the price was never negotiated at the beginning of our meeting. I think she is a working girl but I don't know this for sure. The reason I curious about her profession because this could effect my risk factor.

We were together everyday the next 10 days. We had unprotected oral and always protected vaginal intercourse.

There was one time when I realized the condom came off and I quickly withdraw. I was exposed for about 2 seconds. The last time we had intercourse and discovered she had her period and we stopped. We made a mess but I checked and the condom was intact this time.

I went back to the state and 2 weeks later I had discharge from my penis and burning sensation in my urethra. I went to the doctor and he took sample by inserting a swap into my urethra. I was given a shot and antibiotic and also took blood sample for other std testing. The doctor called the next day and said the sample show that I was infected with Chlamydia but negative on HIV and other stds from the blood work. He asked me to come back in 3 month for another blood test. I was not educate about HIV testing at that time and misunderstood him for anytime within 3 month. I looked at my calendar and picked a date. That date came and I stopped in for the blood work and received a negative results in the mail a week for so later. I put this incident behind and never thought of it until lately.

I has been 2 years now and I was sick so many times. I was a bad winter for me in term of health. I lost 10 lbs for now reason and developed a chronic throat infection, many episodes of sinus infection, and shortness of breath. The doctor said nothing about my shortness of breath because the x-ray of my lung looked clear. I had antibiotic to clear my stubborn sinus infections about 4 times. I begin to question my past and my testing window. I start to goggle my symptoms and many web sites suggested HIV. I began to  lurk in this forum and other forums. I tested at 80th day from the last day I had sex with her. The window period said 3 months which is 90 days or 12 weeks which is 84 days. Please help if you can. Thanks.

1. Is it common to get chlamydia from oral?
2. Am  I at higher risk because I caught chlamydia?
3. I tested negative at 80 day. Can i accept this result?
4. Is my symptom HIV related?
5. My was exposed to  of her menstrual  blood. I never checked for cut or open skin at that time. What is my risk?

Andy, all of your symptoms notwithstanding, you are worrying needlessly about HIV in relation to that past experience. Condoms provide very effective protection and the only real sexual risk for HIV via unprotected vaginal or anal intercourse.

All of the other activities fall into the domain of "theoretical," but in the real world of HIV transmission doesn't happen that way.

Chlamydia is a very common STD and is absolutely not to be interpreted as a precursor of HIV nor something that would make HIV more likely.

There's no need for further testing other than that we always recommend that anyone who's sexually active ought to have a full STD panel done regularly. That means at least annually. As for your symptoms, that's something to discuss with your doctor. This is definitely NOT an HIV situation.
