Here's a serious poll.
It's about the new forum and what we 'think' of it now that it's live and active.
There was much discussion about if we should or shouldn't host this new forum. Now, after seeing it in operation.. Whaddya think?
Does it help or hinder this site?

I won't delete this thread as it is a valid question and one that was going to be discussed after launching the new forum for newly diagnosed.
Matty, no it's not. This is just a gauge of what people feel about how positive or negative the new forum is.
I won't give my opinion one way or the other.... just yet.
edit: for the record, I was in support of the new forum before it launched.

It has its pros and cons. Ann is always removing people from it, because of not obtaining confirmation. We have a lot of WW reading the posts and then coming back to the AM I infected forum with absurd questions. I have read some posts between some new diagnosed people which seems like it does help for some. I really don't see a difference than the Living With forum.

I have only posted a few replies myself in that forum, but from what I read from everybody I think it is doing extremely well...I think the guys here have been a great help to all those who have found themselves newly diagnosed, they have informed them, calmed them and given them hope...and that, as far as I'm concerned is the wonderful thing about this forum.

To be honest, I wasn't in favor of the new forum. I have only been in there a small handful of times as I've been feeling rather overwhelmed myself (not necessarily because of HIV) of late. I just simply haven't had the energy to console others. So my vote would be a "No opinion".
Perhaps such a choice should be placed in the poll, MBB. ;)

I have a simple question. Why are "we" polling in this forum and not the "Newly Diagnosed Forum"? Why don't you ask them? We certainly don't qualify as benefiting or not..
Just sayin..

I don't go in there much at all, I have absolutely nothing to offer a newer person than me. BUT, I can tell you I wish to God I had found this place and a forum just like that on 12/10/05! Would have had a much better 1st 5 months or so.

I love the new forum because it unclutters the Living with HIV forum and keeps the issues from getting buried in introductions.

i agree ..........also it's like knowing how to dress for a garden party OR an evening dinner party. you wear the appropriate clothes before you walk out the door
