Post by: sooscared on October 31, 2008, 10:56:11 am
hello
first, sorry for my english, i have one question... .i know that you cant get hiv from kissing, but what if you get in touch with someone else blood during the kissing... you kiss someone and suddenly you fell that you have his blood in your mouth, and you spit that straightaway... is there a theoretical possibility that you get hiv if that persen is hiv+........thanks

You do not contract HIV by kissing even if for some unknown reason there is a little bit of blood.

No, that is not a risk. Even IF the person whom you were kissing is HIV+, your saliva has over a dozen elements which very effectively prevent HIV from being transmitted. You don't have to worry any further about this incident and there's no need for testing, no matter how much blood was involved.

In order to be transmitted sexually, HIV needs the kind of receptive setting which only unprotected vaginal or anal intercourse provide. Which is why it's so essential to always use condoms for those activities.

Cheers.
