Why not, Cliff? Why does it bother you so much? I'm sorry that this forum represents a perfect utopia to you, but there are real people here that would like to discuss real issues that go on in the world and effect us all. Even the disturbing, frightening things that we would all rather not acknowledge. More so than most groups of people we are subjected to discrimination. I would hope we would all offer our support and voice our outrage whenever someone spews something as disgusting as this guy did because we ALL know how it feels, no matter what the hatred was focused on. I would hope we are also all willing to sadly admit it's existence and do something about it.

Huh?  So basically you're advocating that all political topics be no-go on this forum?  Last time I checked having AIDS is somewhat political still.

This has gone quite far enough. Whatever the original intention may have been, experience here all too many times has taught us that this kind of thread about racial and religious issues, among others, only leads to firefights and a lot of mean spirited exchanges.

I'm going to request that in the future members give greater careful thought before starting any thread like this again. By definition the title itself however ironically intended is only going to invite trouble. As in should Jews thank Nazis for the Holocaust and like "ironies." Or we're so liberal or whatever that we can use terminology that no one should be hurt or offended by them.

Perhaps a simpler, more straightforward expression of something on one's mind might be more acceptable. I don't know. But I do know from experience here and else where that time and time again the kind of approach which began this thread always only spells trouble and elicits little if any progressive communication.

I'm locking this thread before it goes one ugly remark further. Anyone who starts a followup one will be risking a time out. It's painful to see that Cliff even has to bother trying to explain how unacceptable a thread like this is.
