Haven't felt this good in years!!
« on: February 03, 2011, 09:00:51 am »
Last month I changed pain medication and all I can say is it's like seeing in black and white and everything now is in full color. I was taking Methadone 5mg 3 times a day for pain but at the end of the day I was still feeling horrible. I feel much better now that I take Oxycontin 20mg twice a day. My mood and energy has improved greatly. I still have energy after working an 8 hour shift, I been able to keep up on house work which I haven't been able to do in a few years. Methadone seemed to depress me and felt like I always had tunnel vision but now everything is so much brighter and I have a way better outlook on life in general. I am so hopeful and very happy to be alive!

good for you!

I'm curious...was the pain caused by HIV? What kind of pain is so intense that you need to take pain killers every day?

Yes I have chronic pain caused by HIV. I have constant pain in my hands, wrists, knees, ankles and feet. I also have muscle pain in my thighs. The pain was much worse before I started treatment but it's still here as a constant reminder that I have HIV.  I can say now that I finally feel as healthy as my numbers reflect. 1400 tcells so I should be feeling fine but I don't. Till now....

ya man, oxycontin will do that lol. When did the pain start? Was it immediately after getting infected or was it after a couple years of having the virus?

Im sorry to hear about the pain, but I'm glad you feel better :)

the pain started soon after I was infected.
