Really Worried
« on: June 11, 2014, 06:15:16 pm »
Hi All,

So my story is I met up with a guy I met online to have sex. It was my first time being with a guy so I was really nervous and couldn't get hard, so I ended up just fingering his anus, and rubbing my penis (head, urethra, shaft) against his anus. I was rubbing pretty aggressively to get hard. I want your opinion on whether I had a possible exposure. I'm scared that a small part of my penis may have entered his ass without me knowing and that I was exposed from putting my finger in his ass. He said he was negative as of May/2014, but that really doesn't mean anything as he could be in his 'window'. I'm so stressed....

Fingering and Frottage (rubbing) are not risks for HIV infection.

The risk factors for HIV are ...

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth.
Very specific healthcare situations.

Use condoms for vaginal and anal sex consistently and correctly and you will avoid HIV infection, it is that simple.

Thanks for the fast reply Joe. I understand what you said completely. My concern is that during my aggressive frottage, my penis may have slightly penetrated him, thus exposing me to the virus.

I know this may seem like a weird question, but what qualifies as penetration? The tip of my penis? My head? The entire head and shaft?

I doubt you penetrated a guy and didn't know it so it does not sound like you had a risk for HIV . We can't quantify how many centimeters of penis constitutes a risk .

Its pretty clear cut ... if you are not sure then how could we possibly know . Brief insertion or dipping rarely leads to HIV infection for the insertive partner but it is a risk all the same . If you are not sure than go test at 6 weeks and again at 3 months post any possible exposure and expect a negative result .

Joe is correct that rubbing and frottage is not a risk for HIV so if thats all that happened then forget about it ... not a risk .
